On the today show coming up.. Don't buy that puppy in the window! They just announced that coming up on the TODAY show this morning that a story is coming up... and Matt Lauer said " Why Not to buy that Little Puppy in the window" Well. let's see what this is about, they didnt say how long till it is on..... |
Just turned it on... They're announcing Golden Globe nominees. |
YES !!! I think everyone is getting the message about puppy mills - I know they do shows like this at Christmastime but hey - we got to take it when we can get it - did they say WHEN this is coming on ? Is this NBC ? |
Yep V. It's NBC. |

Yes, it's NBC. Yep I agree, the more they show it, the more people learn about it. I went to a party Sat. night and they were all commenting on my letter, so I got to ENLIGHTEN quite a few people there, some said " why is it bad to buy from those auctions?" So~ I HAD to fill them in. When they announced what they said on tv a min. ago. my boss said " OH now Matt Lauer is talking about YOUR puppy mill thing." LOL~ like it's MY THING. Oh well , I'll take it. There are worst things to be associated with. |
did it come on already? i wanna know approximately when to tune in west coast time. i hope they mention how puppies are NOT A GOOD SURPRISE GIFT to anyone! one thing that sucks about christmas is how nearly EVERYONE wants a pup for christmas but as the novelty wears off and the lack of sleep accumulates around new years, guess where that new puppy is headed...:( |

NO it has not been on yet, and they have not mentioned it again?? I'm confused.. I'll let ya know when it's on. :) |
Ok I had to go out in the shop, and I come in and they are all holding pups did I miss it.... |
They have puppies in hand now, and have gone to commercial.... |
They JUST announced it :D i'm waiting for it to come on now too ps...its 8:30 am here in Texas - Central time - so probably in the next 1/2 hour it will be on - I HOPE they do a complete and accurate potrayal of Pet Stores and how bad it is to buy a puppy from them - |
keep us updated. I'm at work and won't get to see it. |
Oh man, I don't have a TV at work, so I'm gonna miss it. Those of you who are watching it, please fill us in on the details. The Today Show is the #1 morning show, so it should get a lot of exposure. First, they did an article in Time magazine, and now the Today show, hopefully this trend will continue and less and less people will buy from pet stores and puppymills. I hope they really put it out there how bad those puppymills really are... |
Please keep us updated! I'm at work right now so I won't get to watch it. |
It's on...but.. it's more about are you READY FOR A PUPPY. :( |
See how we are.. we all hear PET STORE,, and we all thing Puppy Mill.. I think I might have jumped the gun a bit.. Sorry. |
That's ok - still a good message.... I wish they would give information on WHERE those cute puppies come from.... but any media coverage is a good thing. |
That's ok :) We just want to see these puppymills shut down, so we have wishful thinking that they're actually going to talk about it on national television...We just jumped the gun a little bit, like you said. :) |
They did give good advice, though, and talked about the reality of having a puppy - the messes, lack of sleep, etc. And at least they suggested going to a shelter for your pet. |

i think they didn't cover puppymills 'cause that topic remains controversial. but the fact that many who purchase a puppy for christmas are those who are not ready, unprepared, and and otherwise ignorant, not understanding the ramifications of a long term emotional, time, and financial commitment of puppy ownership, that is something that's not up for debate. puppies take a lot of time, money, and patience. if you don't have it, or are unwilling to alter your lifestyle to accomodate it, then you're not ready to own a puppy. |
