Just got a call from the dr office. My ac1 was 7. ?? needs to be 4.5-6. she told me to start sticking to my diet better. So i just texted dh telling him that when he gets in from work, the new diet starts. Hopefully i will not eat myself into a coma before then. Of course, someone has to get rid of all the sweets in the house. JUST KIDDING! |

All kidding aside, this is your health and your life, when the Dr says diet change it means yesterday. Did they refer you to a nutricianist for a consult? A nutricianist can balance meals give you recipe odeas and answer a lot of the questions you will have. |
This is not a new dx. I just fell off the wagon. Not working I have been snacking a lot. Not always good things. Tonight it starts big time. Hospital stay scared me straight. |
i know what to do, i just do not have will power. When your husband sits in front of you eating a bag of cookies, it gets to you. I am so surprised he is not diabetic. His mom was and all of his family is big. His oldest sister is over 400 lbs. |
My dad is diabetic. We get him sugar free candy from Kopper Kettle. https://www.kopperkettlecandies.com/...hocolates.aspx He has never had any problems that I'm aware of. And I have tried it. It is VERY good. I can't tell it's sugar free! |
You may want to check the sugar alcohol content. My Dad is type 2 with pills to keep stable but he can not eat anything with a high level of sugar alcohol as he ends up just like you. If you like pudding try the kozy shack sugar free puddings he loves them and no nasty side affects. also eddys ice cream but small bowls. |
That ask-a-nurse is right! Anything like sorbitol, maltitol...or pretty much anything ending in -tol is just nasty on the GI system if you use just a bit too much. Eat them in very small quantities until you see how they affect your body. Do you use stevia? It's a natural sweetener that does not affect blood sugar (unlike some other cal-free sweetners) and is calorie free. |
Yeah...my mom and grandmother made that discovery when they ate a whole bag of sugar free Reece cups on the way home from Orlando one time. THEN they read the bag. :dizzy: Let's just say it was a very crappy trip for them. |
