i am so spoilt and i like it. Most of you know how i was in the hospital for almost a month. Money is very tight with all the bills even after insurance. My husband gets a longevity check every Aug and it came in this week. We got most of the bills paid up leaving still about 1000 over several bills. We usually do something special each year and each of us get some money to be frivolous with. I told my dh i wanted a cricut expression machine. Really, really want it. found for 186.99 on walmart. I want a hobby to keep me occupied. i am making jewelry and mixed media art so far. This machine will work great for what i want. I plan to decoupage a wooden purse for my sister for Christmas and this will help for this. I told dh i could make things for a grandchild's room (dtr trying to get pregnant) and for our wedding anniversary in dec. He agreed and had me order it just now. I am so excited. Anyone have any thoughts on a cricut machine? |
i dont but wanted to say YAY for you!! hope it is all you expect and more to keep you busy making fabulous things. |
ty. dh is worried about spending that much money on something that i might lose interest in quickly. Reading the forums about it, not sure it will happen that fast. I tend to plunge into things full force, then fizzle out. We will see. |
well you know you can always resell it after your done with it..amazon, ebay, craigslist...here and etc. so tell him not to worry. enjoy! and cant wait to see some pics. |
Thats great!! My friend made our wedding invitations and she had a cricut machine that she used. The invitations came out AMAZING!!! I know you'll be happy and creative with this! :) |
I have a cricut expression and LOVE it! I use it for so many things and also help the grandkids with school projects. It's so much fun...I wish I'd had one in my younger years. One tip...you can find really good deals on cartridges on ebay and even some of the internet shops run good deals. I think you are going to really like it! Enjoy! |
i love to be creative, but i am my own worse critic. nothing i do is good enough. So i am hoping it will help in this area also. I am as usual obsessing and checking all the sites and forums about it. Walmart said i should get it within the week. The price of the cartridges was a factor that almost made me say never mind. Apparently most art stores around here do not honor coupons on cricut products. What else do i need in addition to the machine, cartridges and paper to start? I really like the thought of making my own vinyl stickers for the car, if i am ever allowed to drive again. |
I have had my cricut expression for about 3 years now. I use it off and on for various crafty projects. I tend to get frustrated with it, but I know it's ALL me. My dd came home over the weekend and did two very large poster projects with it. I do a lot of scrapbooking and card making with mine. They are very very handy to have. It's one of those things that even if it sits unused for a while, when you need it you're glad you have it. Good luck in your new hobbies. |
You will also need mats that hold the paper down while cutting. I am sure yours will come with one or two. I have heard Michael's accepts coupons for their cartridges, but we don't have one here. If you buy cartridges, you will be able to find the older ones for good prices, but the newer ones are more pricey. I wish I had waited to buy some of the cartridges and I could have saved a lot of money. Good luck and you're going to love this! There's lots of videos on youtube that you could watch while you're waiting for yours to get there. |
I have one.. I love it ! I use it for school, scrapbooking etc. The person to ask is southernbelle |
