I know everyone comes on here for support and prayers when they are needed, I have seen amazing things happen due to sending it out there for prayers- So the time has came for me and I need some prayers-

My best friend of 22 years, Amber called me the other day. She went to tell me that she is so exhausted all the time, her hair and eyebrow hair is falling out, it hurts when she swallows- She told me she went to the Dr and they are running tests to see if she has THYROID CANCER. I couldn’t help, but break down on here- This is my sister, my blood, I have known her since I was 8 years old- We grew up together, we have so many great memories and we have been through so much together- My heart just breaks for her, I know she is going through a horrible time, and there is nothing I can do to make it better… She has two kids, 4 and 6- She tells me all she can think of is the worse, all she can think of is getting that phone call!!

She went in to get a biopsy- She said she will have the results in 2 weeks. I don’t know what to do- I want to be there for her, but I don’t know how.. How can I make her feel better?? We have been talking a lot, normally we don’t talk everyday- Lately we have been- I have been trying to keep her head up and make her laugh with our crazy old stories!!

Please PLEASE send a prayer for her- I hope that God does something amazing and the test come back negative. I can’t lose her, I have seen Cancer in my family and I do not want her to go through that!!

I am so sorry. I will keep her in my daily prayers. You are doing exactly what she needs you to do- being there for her. I couldn't have gotten through this past year with out some very dear friends.

I am so sorry to hear this. Prayers and good thoughts going her way. I do not know what to say to someone going through this. Just be there for her even if she gets depressed and does not want anyone around, stick close. Find someone you can talk to so you can let out your feelings you are experiencing yourself. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst is what some people have told me.
let us know what happens.

I will definitely send prayers your way for your friend Amber. I think you are doing everything possible by praying and being there for her. I know it's scary and hard to not dwell on the worst until you have the test results but try not to. Keep us posted. Prayers and hugs.

Oh Patti thank you so much, I am praying for you as well- My heart breaks for you, I wish I could mend your broken heart, but I cant, all I can do is send you prayers and strength to get through what you are going through

Thank you- I will keep you all posted once I find out. I know today she had to go to an apt, they wanted to stick that camera down her throat and take pictures... I just texted her to see how it went, haven't heard back yet..

I think that you are already supporting her the best you can. Does she live far away, or fairly close?

I will be praying for your dear best friend that her diagnosis is nothing related to cancer. Best wishes to her as she waits - and to you also.

Please know I will pray for your much loved friend, Amber. You are there for her and that is what she needs from you the most...that's why you are you....her much loved friend right back! Hugs to you both.

I will keep her in my prayers. My dad had thyroid cancer and he had he removed, got radiation and went back yearly for scans and he is doing great. Thyroid cancer grows extremely slow which is a very good thing. They told my dad nobody wants cancer but if you had to have cancer thyroid cancer is the best to have. Now he just takes a pill a day because he has no thyroid.

Thank you all for the prayers- The research I have done said the same thing, thyroid cancer is one of the most treatable cancer's... I don't know what the Doctors are telling her, I know she goes to Kaiser and every time she has an apt they tell her something different- I have had Kaiser and I know that is how they are- I know they are scaring her-

hoping and praying that the news is better than expected. i can only imagine what she is going thru and having two young children will not make that any easier for her. i think your calling and staying connected to her is very important at this stressful time. i wish you both strength and i will keep her and her family and you in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh my goodness, I have heard nightmare stories about Kaiser:eek: I truly hope that they firmly diagnose her and start treatment quickly, whatever the diagnosis.

Since you all live so close, you could support her by just being there. Hang out with her whenever you can, help her with any chores that she may be too tired or feeling too badly to get done. Make her dinner. Hug her. Offer to take her kids for the day so she can rest. Well, you get the idea;)

Thank you guys for the cont support and prayers!! I went and saw her Friday, we had fun- went to dinner then went swimming with the kids! I didn't get home till 2 in the morn.. Hehe it was fun, going to go try to get out there more often!!!

She got some test results back, the right side came back normal, however with the left side they saw something that they didn't like and wanted to retest!! That's where we are.. She goes back in to get more testing this week!
