Anyone have success with at home teeth whitening? I'd really like for my teeth to be a few shades whiter! I plan on purchasing some sort of whitening kit from the store today. Does anyone have suggestions on what I should get?!? Thanks :) |
Last time I whitened I ended up with very sensitive teeth:( I still have to use Sensodyne a few times a week. So, I'd look for something that says "Enamel Safe". I believe I eroded the enamel on my teeth with the stuff I used. It was a long time ago so I can't even remember what kind it was:laugh: Good luck:D! |
Same here. My teeth usually aren't that sensitive, but after using those strips they got really over sensitive, and not really that much whiter. I think it'd be best to just visit the dentist (says the person who hasn't been in years! :blush:) |
Dollar tree has this 5 min whitening kit, by the toothpaste, it comes with a little mouthpiece. I use it here and there and it works great. My teeth are pretty white but I drink coffee so I am hyper about it staining my teeth. People always comment that they are white. I never get sensitivity from it. Can't beat the investment. They also have a little pen one, works about the same and I use the mouthpiece thingy from the other set. I usually put it on, take a shower and then rinse. Hope that helps. |
I personally gave up on all and any whitening kits as my teeth and gums get super sensitive... Last time I whitened my teeth the gums got puffy and hurt for a few days. I just try and stay away from black coffee and red wine to avoid staining. |
Same here -- my teeth became too sensitive after using whitening products. Also, my teeth became more proned to stains, too. Right now, what works for me is to get regular dental cleanings (once every 6 months), and to brush with baking soda. Brushing with baking soda really helps maintain brighter teeth in between dental cleanings. |
I tried the at home whitening kits and nothing seems to work. I just recently bought a Groupon for Zoom Teeth Whitening at a local dental office. The process is a little odd and lengthy but I am thrilled with the results!:teethysmi |

I used to use Crest Whitestrips but they really did sensitize my teeth. I think the old ones said to use them every 6 months, and I did for a few times, and then they switched to once a year I think.... Anyways, my teeth got REALLY sensitive, my gums got really red and puffy and would start to bleed with normal brushing. |

I tried the crest whit strips and they such... didn't work at all a waist of money. So both my daughter and I tried the Wal Mart brand Equate-Intense Tech and they did a wonderful job. Work in just a few day of use, you can defiantly see a noticeable improvement. Beats paying out hundreds of $$ going to the dentist. |

I used the CVS generic brand of the Crest White Strips for a few weeks before my wedding. It definitely worked...I could certainly notice a difference...however, the "dissolving strips" were positively disgusting. I only use them for that one occasion, I don't use them on a regular basis, so I didn't experience any sensitivity as a result. |
