I finally found a carpet for pets! I've been looking for carpeting for a while; we have wood in the living room and dining room, but like carpet in the bedrooms. Since we have two boys and my male grand dogs regularly visit, I wanted something that could stand up to dog urine. This carpet sounds wonderful and it feels incredibly soft. It’s called Smartstand Silk, does anyone have it? Oh another plus is that it’s partially made from corn instead of petroleum, so it’s considered green. |
Oh good! So they can eat it too! (JK) Mohawk is a good company, I don't have it but after seeing 6 elephants abuse it I'd buy it!:D Did you see the 'Martha Stewart' video? She likes it too! |

Lol, I hope they aren't allergic to it! Martha likes it? She has her own brand now; I wonder if that was before she put out her own brand? I tried to stain it with raspberry tea, bleach, hair dye, so far nothing hurts it, and the great thing is the protection starts from the inside out, so it never wears off. |
Wow this is good carpet. Is it really expensive |

It looks amazing. I will watch for updates :) |
I am in the "looking at" process of getting rid of all my carpeting and putting hardwood down because of my accident prone gang. I prefer carpeting in the bedrooms too,but was wondering if the odor can be removed not just the stains and dirt? I think the problem with the urine is it gets in to the padding and hard to get out of that. I will be interested in seeing how you like it after awhile. I am going to check it out. |

Thanks. I didn't know that about the pads. |
Wow, that is pretty impressive! I wonder if the carpet smelled after they cleaned it? |
Nancy, I am looking at new carpeting and there's this carpet out that has some type of salt in it and it draws odors in and neutralizes them. Is this similar to what you have? How do you like your carpeting so far? I am having hardwood floors installed now in the LR DR and halls and kitchen. I took up the carpeting and was so disgusted on all the areas that had urine stains. I cant imagine what it will be like when I take up the bedroom carpet. I can't figure out why most of the time they use pads or go outside but then decide to go anywhere they feel like. Thanks |
