The amazing conudrums of Men Now this story is fashioned by the fact my husband has taken a week off work; a fact he told me about a couple of wks ago. He wouldn't necessarily say he is a Guy's Guy, but he sure likes to think he has all the manly skills. So this man is supposed to have, and believes to the toes of his runners(which he only walks in), that he has very good spatial skills. Ummm..... Then why can't he pack a big van, with a minimal amount of things and actually leave space for Razzle's crate? Now would you think that an open refrigerator door, that also has a warning beeper, when you leave the door open, has something to do with spatial skills? Like the doors are "misaligned"; something like that. Now count it, today is Thursday, I have shut the fridge door every day when I come home from lunch, and twice in the evenings. It is hot here. In fact a virtual sauna of heat! We do have air conditioning. I come home at lunch and find the living room windows open, and the kitchen windows. Now spatially do you not think a closed window looks different to an open one? Of course the A/C is on and struggling to keep up. He says to me; Honey I don't think that guy fixed the A/C right it is too warm in here:( I have had a call every day from home; Honey where is the xxx? This could be like where is the mayonnaise? Have you tried the fridge? Of course I have he snaps. Ummm I say; how about the left hand side, third shelf up sitting front and center of the shelf? He huffs and goes opens the door saying I loooked EVERYWHERE.... Then silence. Well okay I found it! I innocently say where? Er um ... Okay where you said. Now his main task has been to put some gunky black stuff on our asphalt driveway. This is why apparently he took one week off work to do. On Tuesday he got the "stuff". I say to him will that one gallon be enough? He says oh for sure. Well I say it only covers XXX square feet. I think maybe our driveway is bigger than that. Oh he says not to worry, they always minimize things so that you have to buy more. Today after shutting the fridge door, I see he has done the bottom part of the driveway. He says to me, what time do u need to go back? Cause I need to buy some more of this stuff. LOL LOL LOL. Now he has done, based on my female "non spatial" awareness about 1/4 of the driveway. So I sweetly say buy two, what you don't use this year, you can use next year:p And finally he decided to buy a new crate for our big boy Magic. He was so proud of himself. It was on sale, it had the double doors I wanted, side and front. It was a silver color. He said hon, that will reflect the heat more. I look at the box, I see the picture; I say hon, did you look at the dimensions in print on the box? He said No, I looked at the picture; it looked big enough to me! I said, ummm okay, well it says it is only 28 " long and 28" high, what are Magic's measurements? He says well, awh maybe 28.5 as he hopefully looks at me. I say no, he is 30x30. Oh yes, sales are Final! So I have the crate in my car, cause I am the frequent buyer there, and will try to beg for a refund or credit or something!. Thankfully he will return to work on Monday, where he can wow them all with his spatial skills:D:D |
LOL!!!! Too cute! Sounds like just about every man I know! Good luck in getting some credit for that new crate! Your big boy could get about half of himself comfortably in that from what I have seen of him in your pictures of him! Anyway, Monday's not so far off. Keep the faith!!! :D |
I feel your pain! Seriously I do! Summer here is awesome. He's gone from sun up to sun down. I usually make it about halfway through the summer and start complaining that he doesn't spend any time with me. Winter comes and within the 2nd week I'm out of my mind. He's a landscaper and it's hard to build water features and install landscapes with snow on the ground. So, naturally, he's under foot for 4-5 solid months. At least yours still has his front teeth. :) Here's hoping you can return the crate! |
LOL I read your hubby's story. Teeth are a sore point with me right now, as I have a very large amount of work coming up. Now I come home tonight, and the driveway is not quite finished. I say pretty hard work huh? He says well yes, I do need to open up the third can, wasn't sure if you wanted me too, as you said to save it for next year?? ROFLMAO |
Oh my goodness! And I thought my DH was bad... hahahaha!:D (he is, but we won't get into that now...not enough room on the servers!) |
Oh My goodness!!! You guys are cracking me up!!!!! So I guess I really can't complain about the 2 weeks it took my dh to paint the front door ?? Love your story.. |
Hilarious! Good thing you love him!:D |
That's a man for you, But you still have to love them. They are almost as hard to train as some of our yorkies.lol:animal-pa Anne/Luci |
I don't know. Men and yorkies are quite similar. They're both highly motivated by food. |
You must be very patient, Gail. I am very patient, but there are still some things that are a cause for frustration and discontent. Your narrative and post is really so well written and very entertaining. I especially liked your last post about the driveway. That really made me laugh. |
I have been laughing ever since I read your post. My hubby has pulled some real doozies, and I stand and scratch my head thinking "WTH were you thinking" |
haha i have a man like that too must be in the water!! thankfully they have a woman by thier side or one can only imagine who they would live!! hehe. |
Okay the driveway is done! Three gallons used.... I did get to return the crate, and got a credit to be used in store! |

LOL.... that made my day... My bf and I wont be living together when I move, cause I'm going to school and he's staying here, and I don't know how many times I have said to him, "what are you going to do when I'm gone???" Cause he's asked me to find something that is blatantly obvious to find. I can picture Magic in a 28x28 crate... lol, that the size of Harley's main mansion, I mean crate :D |
