Does the NO NO work?
 
I see those commercials and it sounds amazing but I'm skeptical.
Does anyone have one?
Do they really work like they say?

I don't have one, but I've used one. One of my best friends is an infomercial nut and owns almost every as-seen-on-tv type gadget.

It's definately a very slow, tedious process, and it smells like burning hair (which is not real nice). It wasn't painful though, which is a plus in my book as I'm still traumatized by my ONE experience with an epilady in the 80's. I guess it would depend on where you were wanting to use it. NO WAY would I have the patience to do my whole legs with it!

Having used it, I wouldn't buy it for myself. I'd rather shave or wax. If I had small areas, such as face, I'd rather pay for electrolysis.

Let me say this.....I have birthed 6 children, 4 of them naturally with no drugs whatsoever, and I would rather give birth than wax, pluck or epilady my girl parts!!

I also wouldn't recommend threading, which I had done on my eyebrows and upper lip. I've never had it done again!!

That area gets naired because everything else hurts. I went to get a wax once and actually wouldn't let her finish-I walked out of there with one side waxed and the other not. I also tried a epilady once, and put it to my area and tears sprang to my eyes, I dropped the epilady and haven't seen it since.

Laser hair removal.

In the grand scheme of things, it's a money saver. razor blades are outrageously priced for what you do with them and I was one that shaved every day because I hate stubbles. I started with lasering just my lower legs. Eventually, I've managed to get everything done that I don't want to mess with.

I do have my eyebrows waxed still.

:thumbup::thumbup: Agreed, but be prepared for it to grow back some. I had my underarms, bikini area, and lower legs done. Ran out of money after that, stupid economy:laugh: Anyway, my hair is returning somewhat, but nowhere near what it was before. There is less of it and it's softer and finer. I shave once a week and you can't see the stubbles, really. I could go in and get it touched up and might do that when finances allow. It really doesn't hurt, just uncomfortable, and while it takes several treatments, it is worth the expense and the time. I was smooth for a couple of years there;)

Razors are ridiculous, aren't they:eek: My lord, I think I pay $16 for FOUR refills on my Venus Embrace. I only get a couple of uses out of them, too. It seems like they're not very sharp.

Let us all know if you decide to use the No No. I thought it sounded too good to be true:laugh:

I have one. My hair is too light for laser removal. They said it won't work. I have not used it on my entire leg yet just because of time. It is a slow process. It is COMPLETELY pain free. This was this biggest concern for me. I use it on my face and get no irritation (like I do with Nair and wax). If I only every use it on this area I feel good about my money spent.

Forgot to mention that now that I have had it for a couple of months it only takes about 5 minutes. Again that is a smaller area than legs though.

I can say from personal experience that Electrolysis is VERY slow & tedious and each follicle has to be done 3 times so an hr session only does a tiny section per visit then you wait for the hair to come in & do it again 2 more times & most will only do 30 min appts at a time. IMO it's good for things like a stray facial hair but that's about it. People think you go get it once & then your done & this is not the case. I think laser is probably the best & fastest way, but here again it does not kill the follicle in 1 visit but can do a much larger area at a time so cost wise in the end they are comparable.

Does it eventually make the hair permanently go away ?
& what was the cost of it, if you don't mind my asking ?

Lol, I agree. The Epilady is just straight out Cruel & Unusual Punishment:eek: Had to be invented by a man, LOL... JK.

It doesn't claim to make it go away permanently only to grow back slower and more sparse. I haven't had mine all that long to be able to say from experience. It was almost $300. Much cheaper than laser, especially when the nurse tells you that the laser won't work on blonde hair.
