The oldest US pet cemetary... happens to be about 7 miles from my house. I had no idea this was the oldest in the country... PhotoBlog - Oldest pet cemetery in US is final resting place for thousands of animals |
Oh! My gosh!! That is so big!!!! I've never seen a pet cemetery before. |
Wow they sure do cram them in. I wish I had that much money to bury my beloved pets. |
My precious Jessie was cremated there. They do a great job with a private ceremony. The place is very peaceful. My vet said he didn't trust many places to do the cremation but he was confident in this place after personally reserching it. |

I didn't know the place was so beautiful...I pass it at least 5 or 6 times a week. |

Thanks, Jessie passed about three years ago. But I still think of her each day. Her ashes are kept on a little memorial table in our bedroom. We now have Jamie-born the same day as Jessie. Also a great yorkie but such different personalities. The staff at that cemetary is so thoughtful and kind. They made a terrible day more tolerable. |
I started watching and saw one or two of the headstones & started bawling. Pet cemeteries are so heartrending to see the little momentos left on the graves & read the names of the dogs & their owner's words to/about them. All those things speak so loudly of what dogs mean in our lives. It is good to know of such a place where they take such care of those precious little earthly bodies, whether through cremation or burial. |
