3.5 Days Left!! ANy other teachers counting down the last days of school??? I get a week off (and a trip to Napa) before I go right back in to prep my classroom for summer school... but I am SO looking forward to that week off :-D |
I'm not a teacher, but wanted to thank YOU and all the others out there that do teach. Without people like you, the world would stop! My 16 year old dd wants to be a teacher, always has since she was little. I'm so proud of her:) |

It takes a special person to teach, and infinite patience, I'm sure:) |

SUMMER makes me smile :) I can't wipe the big grin off of my face :D I teach Middle School Social Studies, at the same school where Rhonda teaches. Two years ago I took a picture a day all summer and posted it in an album on FB. That way at the end on the summer I cold answer the question "what did you do this summer?" It was a fun project. :) Hope all teachers (and future teachers) in YT land have a great summer break. :D:D:D |
I have 13 more school days to go! I'm actually going to really miss the class I have now. They can make you crazy one minute, but are a real group of sweeties the next. They were so excited about my wedding this year, it really was cute. They even threw me a little bridal shower in class (with the help of their parents, of course). I would have invited them all if it wasn't that DH and I decided on a VERY small and intimate ceremony and dinner. I don't have anything big planned for the summer. Just looking forward to reading and spending time with my husband and Roxie. We were going to go on a honeymoon, but we honestly have no idea where to go. |
Congratulations, teachers! You deserve a break, even if it is a short one.:) |
I'm not a teacher either, but perhaps I could pick your brain. My youngest son has a 1st grade teacher that is amazing. In the 16 years I've had kids in school, I've never met or appreciated any of them quite as much as I do her. She and my son have established quite the bond and she's taken so much of her time, energy and love and really helped him this year. I'm eternally grateful to her. Soooo.... I want to do something extra nice for her. She's a mature lady (Mid 50's?), single (I'm assuming divorced or widowed) and overall just a really neat woman with a great personality and sense of humor. So, if you were selecting a gift for someone like this, what would you select? |

Something personal, like a poem or picture. I always appreciate the handmade, personalized items because I know it took a little more effort to put together. Maybe check out Shutterfly? They have some super cute stuff you can make with pictures and whatnot. |
I'm a wannabe teacher (certified K-8, but just subbing until I can find a full-time position), and am NOT looking forward to summer! I do not get paid in the summer, so I have to find a summer job, and I dread it every year. I'm reallllly hoping I get a teaching job this fall so I don't have to be stressing every summer :( I hope all the teachers have a great summer! I'm looking forward to being able to enjoy my summers... maybe next year?! |
I ended up getting her a dozen roses, $100 gift card to Pottery Barn and a 1 hour massage and facial. We got her a card and I wrote a note telling her how much we loved her and how she was the best teacher I'd ever met in the 16 years of having kids in school. I don't think she realizes how attached my son is to her. We both cried today when we dropped everything off at school for her. I wish there was a way we could keep her. I've never had a teacher impact me as much as she did. I'm really going to miss her. |
