Do you change sheets for company? I was getting ready for company. I always pull the sheets on the guest room bed and put fresh sheets. A friend said they don't:eek::eek::eek:. I ALWAYS change sheets even if a guest only slept one night.. I would NEVER want to sleep on sheets someone else slept on (except my dh.. or maybe dd) So I asked my friend..how often do you change your sheets?? When I was a kid my mom changed sheets once a week. I saw a news article about how a month is too long.. well , yes duh! Just wondering... oh.. and I CLEAN the bathroom (yes bleach is my friend:D) |
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: |
I always change the sheets. WHen a guest leaves, I put fresh sheets on and the bed is covered with a comforter that's pretty but too stiff to sleep with. When a new guest comes, I pull off the stiff comforter and add soft blankets. If it's been a long time, though, I do wash the sheets again. I usually do our sheets once a week, sometimes 10 days if I'm really lazy:p When we were battling fleas, all the bedding got washed about 8 times in two weeks:eek: |
Once, sometimes twice weekly for my bed and if I have company that's going to stay longer than a week or two, I always let them know I want their sheets too when I strip my bed. I always strip guest sheets after they leave even if they were only slept on once. Doesn't matter. I want to always have crisp clean sheets on the bed for the next guest. ;) |
I would never leave bedding that someone else had used for guest, I would not expect to sleep on sheets that someone had slept on already :( |
I change them. When they come and when they leave. I think it is the right thing to do. I have my sheets washed weekly. Sunday is sheet day! :D:D I guess just habit from my momma!! |
I pull mine once a week and put a clean set on. Usually the same day the dogs get a bath. I'm just not real thrilled with ironing them after they're clean. |
Yes I put on clean sheets and change them when they leave. I wash my sheets and bedspread every week with 4 dogs on them. |
I put clean sheets on for guests and wash them once they leave. I also clean my sheets and put on a clean comforter every week. I am like you I clean the bathroom once a week too. |
We don't have people stay the night..... ;-) Actually, if we have over night guests, I take them to our apartment. It has a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living area and is fully stocked. I do that so I don't feel like I have to entertain them while in my home, and they don't have to feel awkward or uneasy. They can have coffee if they want (I don't drink coffee and dont make it). They can stay up late, sleep in, eat in their underwear or take a shower at 3 am and it won't bother anyone in my house. I make sure everything is clean and stocked before they come, and I strip the sheets and towels and wash them and replace them after they leave. It gets cleaned regardless about twice a month, if no one uses it, more often if someone visits and definitely immediately after someone visits. |
I wash the sheets immediately after a guest leaves. ( The guests are usually my grown children.) Since no one goes into the guest room, including the dog, I figure the sheets are ready for the next guest. I suppose if they are left longer than a month, it might be a good idea to wash them again before a guest arrives. I clean all the bathrooms once a week even if there are no guests. |
Yes, honestly I cannot imagine not changing the sheets. I have a cat who thinks the guest room is his so I usually have to vacuum the bed also. |
yes of cours and wash the blankets as well!! my husband usually changes our sheets twice a week because we sleep with all the furr butts. hehe. |
Do you know if your sheet's have been changed? Back in the 80s when my husband was in the air force I worked in a motel. Did you guy's know they do not change the bedspread's only every 6 month's. That is how they keep them looking new. When we go to a Motel I alway's askfor clean sheet's and change them my self. We take our own comforter along. You can tell when you pull the blanket's back if the sheet's have been changed or not. If they were changed your sheet's should have crease's in them. Where they were folded. That's the first thing we do is check the bed. Just thought i would mention this. |

oh my... now my ocd is kicking in... I will ask for clean sheets from now on!! When my dh had his stem cell transplant I was given a list of things to do for an immune suppress person. It covered food and listed was to change beed sheets at least once a week. I was a little suprised that it had to be listed. After we moved I am using a white bed cover. Not a good idea with three dogs:eek: .. I often have to change sheets more often because of the dogs. |

Whenever we get to a hotel room, I always 'undo' the bed and have a look at the mattress and pillows (I don't know why, I think it's the thought of lumps or strange marks ) and often ask for a fresh set of bedding, just for my own peace of mind, then change it myself.... At home, it's usually one of my children that come to stay, and I've 'trained' them to strip the bed when they leave ;) (well, I wash, iron and re-make it - so why not?). Our bed, I change weekly - but we have a quilty thing on top that's Harry's, and I wash that every few days. Sally + Harry x |
oh yes, yes I do! if someone sleeps over I always change the sheets. Thats just gross not to! I always clean the bathrooms spotless and mop/vacuum the floors too. Except if it's my brother ... I don't panic on cleaning up for him so much! I do vacuum and sweep/mop the floors though since the kids crawl. |
I change the sheets right after guests leave... But I have to admit, I don't wash them again right before another guest comes... Should I be doing this? The door is always closed and I don't let the cats or dogs sleep on that bed  |

at least, by the post, I see I am normal!!!! |
We don't even HAVE sheets on the spare bed between guests lol! We strip the bed and wash the sheets when the guests leave, and just set the blanket and pillows back over the mattress (well, we also have a mattress cover on the mattress). Then when we are getting company, we get a set of clean sheets from the linen closet to make the bed! Our dogs don't go in there and we don't have guests very often. |

hmm... that is a good idea... that way if you don't have company for a long time you don't feel like the sheets need to be changed again. |
