A reporter looks at George Zimmerman's past...... |
I read this story earlier this evening. I want to think this is being driven by Zimmerman's attorney. He is trying to show the other side of George, not the two headed murdering monster he has been made out to be. I haven't seen any comments from the family or Al Sharpton but I would expect something by this weekend, I doubt they will leave it alone. I don't believe all the hype about George but I do believe he made some bad decisions on the night of the shooting and I think if you asked him he would agree. Sometimes it's better to just back off and defuse the situation than it is to press on and make matters worse. Depending on how all the evidence is read George could very well be acquitted, that does not mean his life will return to normal. Martin's family could file a civil case if the situation presents itself and he will be found guilty in those proceedings. We don't know, he may be found quilty of the murder charges and wind up spending the next 20 years in jail. George will sit home with nothing but time on his hands thinking about what he did, it is going to be a long hot summer. Two mens lives ruined, |
I don't blame him for being fed up with crime in his neighborhood but he still took the law into his own hands---vigilante style. The problem with a gunshot is, if you are wrong, the guy is still dead:( A punch to the face is assault, but you can still apologize to the person and explain the mistake you made. A gunshot can't be taken back. |

I can't wait until this case is over. I cannot believe it's still being talked about... Let the courts decide. We are not on the jury. |

It is a big case and the outcome is important. I haven't seen any arguing going on. Most of what I have read is civil in nature, just like it should be. This is not my forum and I am still a newby here but I don't see anything wrong with discussing this as long as we treat each other with respect.IMHO |

My intent when I posted the first article was not to disrupt the forum, it was just to give like minded people something to talk about and it is obvious that there were quite a few opinions on both sides of the issue. If I am instructed by the Admins of this forum not to post anymore items about this story I will comply but I think it is an important story that will affect us all in one way or another. This is a great community, it really is and I think we are all adult enough to discuss current events without cutting each other up. :D |
I will bet that Zimmerman wishes he could take the night back and start over.. Bad choices made by both of them. But I do expect Zimmerman to be acquitted. Yet that won't make Martin or a 17 year old kid any less dead.... And Zimmerman will have to live with that choice for the rest of his life.. |

I just wish when the media reports on this they would cover "both" sides not just one. I think there are things that we the public dont even know about that did happen in those few minutes before the shooting. I also think if Zimmerman is acquitted (and I think he will) it want be good. I think it will become a big race thing. I work near the court house where Corey is at, in a neighborhood that is not the best. Very high crime area. I'm really concerned of a race issue from others from an acquittal. Either way IMO I dont think any outcome of this is going to be good. I also heard that Corey is being looked at by the State General Attorney(?) for the charges she brought against Zimmerman, said it should have never been. She has the evidence and should have never been a charge. This was told to me from a 3rd party so not sure if it is the truth. I do know she is known for seeking higher charges in order to get a conviction. Dont get me wrong I still like her though. |
