The satellite just went down again!!! I can still hear thunder coming from the southeast. But for the first time since morning, the birds are out chirping like mad. Think that's a good sign? |
Praying all are safe. The news coverage is so frightening. |

Oh my goodness....I'm glad you are okay!!! Be careful! |
I have heard thunder for about five hours straight. It really is getting old! |

TV reporting many dogs are out and running loose in the streets in damaged neighborhoods. Huge peel of thunder just hit nearby!!! Watch out for the possibly injured, loose and scared dogs and cats from this terrible tragedy. |
Can't believe these storms! I'm really glad you're okay. Tornadoes are so scary. |
Ohhh, just saw a report on local TV in an area called Diamond Creek subdivision in Forney, Texas where one house is all gone but part of one outside wall and heaps of lumber. The reporter said the woman who lived there told her she held onto her baby by its feet to keep the tornado from taking it! And realized in my horror, been misspelling tornadoes! I guess in the midst of all of this, a few brain cells have shorted out. I need my shower and now have to go unload the bathtub in the main bath! Helmut, dog carrier, pillows, purse, cellie, radio, blankets, etc., and put everything away. |
Jeanie you are sure it is over? I just got online and saw this post. How very scarey. I wouldn't have clue one what to do in a tornado. Except protect the pups. OH please be safe. Vet records for the pup, carrier ready to go, 2 leashes and halters, food packed in cooler, water too. Oh my |
how scary and sad for everyone it affected |
There is some weather coming up North from Hillsboro but it looks like it may go east of D/FW. Still may leave all the stuff in the bathtub a bit longer until sure about that. My heart is breaking for all those people out tonight picking through their homes and patching places. Just saw one totally smashed car all alone out in the middle of a field, flung there by a tornado. |
I'm so glad you are safe from all of the terrible weather there today. I hope you don't have anymore. |
Oh my....my heart skipped when I started reading this....I'm so glad you both are ok. I can't begin to imagine how scared you were..bless you heart. Sending prayers for the well being of your neighbors and community. |
Jeanie, Vicki, and Thuy, and everyone down in that area, I am relieved you and your little ones are safe...please stay safe! |
Praying that everyone stays safe....have just seen some video on my computer.....Prayers coming your way :hands::hands::hands: |
Jeanie, glad to hear you & Tibbe made it through the storm safely. It was surreal watching it on the news tonight. The trailers tossed around like toys...crazy. It's another strong reminder to have an emergency pack ready for us AND our pups, for times like this. |
That is soo Scarey!! So glad you are okay!! |
Thank you all for your concerns - it was such a scary day for everyone - tragic for some. I was kind of lazy so far this year and hadn't my whole kit ready but in about 10 minutes, I had most of it ready. Forgot the house and car insurance policies and Tibbe's health records as they are presently in a safe in the garage so I have to remember to get those next bad weather episode. Tibbe's collared with ID's, rabies tag when he goes out the front door, company comes or we have storms and my phone numbers are on the collar and he's chipped of course. I've looked outside and though my radar showed two intense areas of rotation passing over my house, we have no damage in the yard or surrounding neighborhood that I can see. I think each tornado had pulled off the ground when they approached us but my neighborhood Doppler definitely showed two different passes of intense rotation - the same levels as where a lot of damage was done when the tornado was touching down. Whew! |
Oh my gosh! How scary!! I hate tornadoes! :( They get me very nervous. Glad you were missed. |
Oh, I am glad everyone is okay. Those pictures of the trailer swirling in the air are amazing and terrifying. What a good idea to have a helmet, I never thought of that before. We had tornadoes hit Northern Kentucky about a month ago. There was so much damage and it takes forever for the cleanup, according to news reports, etc. Volunteers have literally been picking house insulation out of the trees, for one thing. It actually looked like snow. Piles and piles of garbage, etc. Many dead animals - very sad. The reason I am bringing this up is because I am sure the same thing is going to happen in your area with the clean up. Again, glad you and the pups are safe. |

I was watching it all unfold on the BBC News over here...how devastating and frightening. Good thoughts and prayers to you all...stay safe....Sally x |
The trailers looked like toys being swirled about..so scarey |
I just saw this one, so sorry you had such a big scare, since yesterday I been praying for all Tx people.. so horrible those tornados.. hugs, stay safe.. |
so glad you are ok!! my dil (my dh's dd) lives with her three kids in that area... we were very worried!! |
Saw a story on a little Yorkie that had been left in the back yard(!) and gone when the family came home. They found the Yorkie with only a cut on its neck two houses down with another family. Little thing probably was scared to death as that storm raged through! Also many others doggies are finding their way home and some still waiting for the family. There are some critical injuries in some people and a lot of property damage but we were very, very blessed overall. |
