PLEASE< stay safe! |
My computer Doppler radar showed the eastern-most one passed right over my house with an "intense rotation" indicator over it! There's another storm moving through now. |
Ugh. Power keeps going out and another intense rotation just moved over my house per my Doppler radar. Satellite has gone out and all I've got is radio and computer. It's really storming and thundering hard here but no hail so far. City of Arlington has declared a disaster. |
Be safe, those storms look very serious. Please keep us posted. |
I am watching The Weather Channel and the pictures of devastation are just incredible! Praying for safety for all in the tornadoes' path ... |
I live in College Station, I know nothing about Texas. Am I in danger? Looked on weather.com and see that we have a tornado watch. It's sunny outside but they say the storm will pass through CS during this evening. Great timing, with my dog shaking and heaving and scaring me and possibly needing to take her to the vet. |
Carmen, this is really serious stuff...please be careful! |
Sending prayers for all of you in harms way and of course your little yorkies and furry friends, too :hands: |

The girl's and I were in the closet. Darn warning sirens kept going off. I had to drug up Willow and she was just in a panic. Looks like it's all over for now at this time. I am still hearing thunder rumbles. I just hate this time of year here in Texas. |
So far we have no reports of death or injury but the damage they are showing on local TV stations show a lot of general damage just everywhere - part of homes, roofs blown away. I haven't seen any structure leveled to just the foundation though yet - that sort of ultimate damage as some storms produce. Some are saying those trailers flying through the sky were up about 300 feet since the chopper taking the picture was flying at 700 feet and they were almost halfway up per the chopper reporter who got those pictures. That tornado had just passed my sister's house in DeSoto, Texas just before it got to the trailer depot or whatever that place was. Forney, Texas had a tornado reportedly hit the high and elementary schools but reporters cannot get into the area yet. We have no other local reports from Forney. My son said one of the tornados passed right over his apartment in Addison, Texas - far North Dallas as we sometimes call those small towns just north of Dallas. |
Tibbe just roused himself and demanded to go outside in the thunder and rain, came in, had his lunch late and has curled up beside my hip on the couch. He slept through all my preparations and the power outages, the eerie stillnesses, the horrible thunder and lightening and hard rain as if he were drugged! He usually spends rainy days sleeping but I thought with all that was going on and how loud the storm and sirens and roaring sounds were, he might wake and get scared like I was beginning to get. |
The Schneider terminal that the trailers were picked up from is at Bonneville Road; just off I 20. There's also several truckstops nearby so some may've come from that as well. |
How frightening and to think I was on road for the most part of the day. Had to take both girls to the clinic to get them updated on their shots and preventions in Denton 30 miles away. Just got home from picking up Daisy and heard that a tornado touched down in our area. What a day. |
