As for Breaking Bad, my DH got me into the show. What can I say, what educator hasn't thought of every option to supplement their income??:p |
I just started watching it. I think we're on the 4th episode. It is already addicting. I'm glad to see so many enjoy it, because that means it must get better and better. :D I've skipped the spoiler posts and can't wait to watch more episodes. |

I've seen the ads & it looks pretty rough & dark but everybody raves about this show!!! What is it about it that makes it sooooo good? Is it the writing, the acting, direction??? Is it really about a guy who is dying & sells drugs or is a hit man or something to leave money for his family? Am dying to find a show to love but don't want to watch something that is - you know - soul-less or just morally low down - well, you get what I'm saying. I watch Dallas and I watched most of The Killing - fastforwarded through some scenes. But everybody just can't get enough of this show BB. I'm SO curious!!! Summer is sooooo long when there isn't much to watch that is new & well-done........ |

ALL of it... writing, acting, direction, is spot on. There's NEVER been an episode where I've went "yeah RIGHT that wouldn't have happened" and there's never been an episode that left me disappointed. It's not soul-less at all... or moraless. The commercials may make it seem like that. But it's a very character complex show. Each character goes through their own emotions, and trials & tribulations. They struggle with their decisions and where their life has gone and what it's become. But yes essentially what it's about is a man, Walter White, who in the first episode gets diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. He's already living a bland life, kinda boring marriage, he works as an over-qualified high school chemistry teacher, and he just turned 50. He has a second job at a car wash and a 16yr son with cerebal palsy and a new unexpected baby on the way. His brother-in-law is a DEA agent and he saw how he busted a meth lab and how much money he got, and it gave him the idea. It does have a few graphic scenes (i.e. there is some murder, and blood) but it's not excessive (like The Walking Dead) and it's not in every episode. The chemistry between the characters is amazing, the writing, the directing... just everything. Bryan Cranston is amazing. He won 3 Emmy's in a row for his role. I say just check it out!! I've never met anyone who was disappointed with it, or didn't become addicted. |

Bad news about "Breaking Bad" So, now that fans are all set for the final season, it is announced that the sixteen episodes will be delivered in TWO six-episode mini seasons. BLAH! We get six episodes this summer and the remaining NEXT summer! Kinda makes a person want to break bad. |
Do the math...that's two EIGHT episode seasons! |
^ I know I am pissed about that... But did you watch tonights episode?!?! |
Oh, ya! I'm afraid for Skylar. BTW, was she preggers for reals last season? |
OMG... just... omg. |
I know...right?! I didn't expect Mike to be around for much longer, but never anticipated this. How sad was it when he had to abandon his granddaughter? And, what's with Todd? |
Walt has completely lost his heart and soul. Not trusting his young protégé who seems too eager to learn how to cook, but at this point I don't care what happens to Walt, I don't want Jesse hurt and I don't want Walt's family hurt. |
Ya i also love this Show when i'm free from my work then i like to watch this show.Anna Gunn is my favorite character in this show.she done great job in this show. |
I just watched this series on Netflix and CANNOT wait to see the final season! I don't know if any of you all have seen this comic comparing the proximity of violence to amount of hair in Breaking Bad but it cracks me up (adult language, for those who are sensitive): Violence VS hair: an analysis of Breaking Bad - The Oatmeal I must say that I cannot really stand Anna Gunn/Skylar in this series haha...she has her moments but both her and Walt have become kind of unlikable (for me, anyway). I remember feeling similarly when I was watching NipTuck (actually same for Dexter, Weeds, etc)...just half way through the series, even though I enjoyed the show immensely and the plot, most of the characters start to annoy the bejeezus out of me after they go through certain events that alter their personalities. Still love all these series though! And can't wait for season 5 of BB to come out on Netflix or DVD although that's gonna be a while! |
I get lost in "The Oatmeal" several times a week! |

Do you have On Demand? All the eps are there from season 5. (Nobody read this stuff if you haven't watched the show **spoilers**) I know, I am so frustrated with Walt. I'm like but but but... I ROOTED FOR YOU, don't turn THIS evil. But then again, I still can understand why he does SOME of the things he does... and I know he's supposed to turn into this. That's the beauty of the writing and the show. The director always said he wanted to turn Mr. Chips into Scarface. Skylar has annoyed me GREATLY this season too. It's like... one minute you're in, the next you're out? Uh, obviously you knew your hubby wasn't out planting flowers and roses, and I'm sure she had to have known some bad shady stuff was going down, and she willingly "signed" up for it, now she can't stand him. But then again, I understand because when you actually definitely know your husband is a mass murderer and all... I guess that would hit you hard. And if you knew people were IN your house looking to kill him. I don't blame her for being worried about the kids safety. In one way, I really really want Hank to find out. like soon. He's soooo close. But in another, I don't, because that probably means the end of the show. Boooo. I'm so bummed they are doing only 8 eps this summer and then we have to wait until next next summer to see the last 8. This season has definitely been a bit more bleak IMO, but I feel like they had to have a cool down from season 4 which was just insane crazy. Honestly the last 3-4 eps gave me mild heart attacks, LOL... "Crawl Space" just... *dies* And I think it's realistic to know that they had to re-build and start from scratch again. So of course it's not going to be action-packed. I think the last 8 will pick up a lot, and these were just starting the plot for us a bit... I do love Jesse still. Jesse has had a huge heart from the beginning so what they've been thru in more recent times has just made him realize what he's doing and how his actions are affecting other people. He's matured nicely. :) |
And can I just say I'M SO EXCITED YET SO SAD FOR TONIGHT?!?! I don't want it to end. I will have nothing to look forward to every week *sigh* |

UGHHHHH! No On Demand here though :( |
OOOOMG I don't want to wait a year to find out what happens!!!!! |
Oh, I don't want Hank to find out, that would just kill him wouldn't it? You would feel so horrible to have your family betray you like that. No way would he ever be able to trust anyone again. However, I think Walt secretly wants Hank to find out what a genius he is. By the way, it showed Walt undergoing medical procedures, do you think the cancer will come back? |

*definite huge spoiler* Hank DOES know ... he for sure knows Walt is Heisenburg. The actor who plays Hank said so in the behind the scenes thing. That ending was just... wow... what a cliffhanger. I agree, I was glad to see a bit of the old Walt come back. I think the pile of money hit him pretty hard, like wow... I guess I can quit now. Anyone else notice the foreshadow last night? When Walt got out of the shower, the camera angle was from the POV of the book in the bathroom. I think Walt just got too comfortable in his own house, since he wasn't hiding anything from Skylar anymore, so he just left it there or whatever. I do agree- I'm wondering if he knows the cancer is back, and that's why he told Skylar he's done. |

I'm confused about the book, I couldn't see the writing that well, I just thought the book was signed to Walt using his initials "WW". What was the book and what did it say? Also, I'm afraid that the list of names that he put under the switch plate will do him in. Why would he keep the list if he didn't want to get caught? I was thinking that's why he decided to quit also. I don't think he was doing it for the money as much as to prove something to himself. I think he feels like a huge failure since he lost his first business and this was more about making him feel like a success. |

I didn't realize he put the names in the switch plate, I thought he just put the risen (spelling??) back! I agree with you, he's not doing it for the money but to prove something. |

I thought it was the list of names, because when he got up from the table after speaking to that women (Lydia), it looked like he rolled up the list and put it under his hat. At first I thought it was one of those poisonous cigarettes, but it looked different and I assumed it was the list of names, but maybe it was the poisonous cigerette? When he got home it showed him putting the rolled up piece of paper behind the electrical plate. |

I don't think he kept a list of names. If you re-watch Season 4 Episode 4, you will see Hank showing Walt Gale's notebook. It said "to W.W." on the front ... and then Walt smartly flipped thru pages and said "look it's a poem by Walt Whitman... your W.W." And Hank had jokingly said "WW... Walter White?" and Walt held his hands up and said "You caught me!" or "guilty" or something like that. Back in season 3, Gale had given him the book as a gift because he looked up and admired Walt. He had quoted a Walt Whitman poem the first day they met in the lab I believe. I think it's going to hit Hank. Obviously he's not going to want to believe it. But really... there's no question, I don't think. He's going to realize it. He now will know that Walt is Heisenburg, but Walt won't know that Hank knows... ahh it's going to get SOO good. |
Sometimes the "inside" and behind the scenes videos answer a lot. Love watching them after every episode. Breaking Bad - (CONTAINS SPOILERS) Inside Episode 508 Breaking Bad: Gliding Over All – AMC |
