I am learning how to knit! Well I just went to HobbyLobby to get the scrapbook, and of course I walked out with more than that! I bought a kit to learn how to knit! Along with a dog sweater pattern book and other stuff. I hope I can do this! Hopefully I can get good and then I will make evry member a sweater! OOOOOOOhhhhhhhhh shouldnt say that huh, thats alot of sweaters to knit! lol! |
Good for you - I received the cutest sweater from Shana (Tinkerbells Closet) and I can tell you it is outstanding - knitting is so cool because you can almost make anything to fit ANYThing - I crochet a little but my talent stops after I make a perfect square...my biggest talent was making a HUGE perfect square... and calling it an afgan :) |
That's great! You'll be good at knitting...it takes a little practice at first and then it's like riding a bike! My advice is to start practicing making a scarf with cheap yarn - just to get the hang of it, and once you do, then start moving up from there. Good luck! Can't wait to hear the progress! It's really fun and very rewarding. |
whooo hoo! Never even held needle or yarn in my hands before and I already know how to cast on and the basic knitting part! I have like 4 rows of knit done! It is so hard to learn from a book! ugh I almost gave up already! Now I gotta figure out what in the world they are talking about with everything else. I dont get all the words they use. Gonna be awhile before I get past a square! And if the needle is only so long, how do you make a blanket? See I am clueless? Lmao! |
LOL! I bought a crochet book at Walmart a few weeks ago and the crochet stuff and am going to try and learn how to crochet sweaters for my babies. Is the knitting easier??? It is different isn't it??? :) I also bought a sewing machine today at Walmart and am going to try and make some dog clothes! I haven't a clue about either, except that my grandmother taught me how to crochet a chain....I'm gonna try to teach myself the rest, but you are right, the lingo they use in those books is foreign to me, LOL :) Let us know how you are progressing!!! |
knitting is fan. I habe been doing this since I was 8yo, something like that. My son is 16 already ;) Just today I finished one more dress for Jessica. I like to do designer clothes that matches with mine. I knit for myself too, but since I have had Jess I like to knit for her more (seems like I am a really yorkie freak :D )Unfortunately, I don't have a camera with me right now to show her clothes, but if I have a chance, I will send some pics in near future. Good luck :) My advice is to start practicing making a scarf with cheap yarn I am not sure about cheap yarn - sometimes cheap yarn is more hard to work with ;) I would recommend to take something like wool/acrilic. |
Everyone says knitting is more difficult than crocheting. I am not sure why I went with knitting lol. I have no idea how to sew either but I want to learn. I want to start saleing someday when and if I get good! |
well, probably yes. But I do like both. I do like some Irish patterns made by 3 needles, and such patterns cannot be croched. Unfortunately, I haven't seen good needles here - I brought mine from abroad. |
