On the very top line there is "Add +". Click on it and it gives you the option of uploading from your puter under "Upload a Pin" or posting a website address under "Add a Pin" (or you can create a new board under "Create a Board"). So, click on "Add +" on the top line, then click on "Add a Pin" and you will see the highlighted area to paste the website for a specific recipe on Allfoods.com. Hope this helps :) |
I LOVE Pinterest!!!! I have found so many interesting tutorials. I will admit when I first started it was very confusing lol not user friendly at all. but once u get the hang of it and add the pin button to your browser it is awesome :) |
I'm glad you made this thread, because I had absolutely no clue how to work pinterest! My friend talked me into joining and she made it sound all.... unconfusing. But when I tried doing things for myself it was a total bust. This thread is awsome! |

Click on "Add +" at the very top of the page. Right above the "Add a Pin", "Upload a Pin", "Create a Board" selections, is a line that states "Pin images from any website as you browse the web with the "Pin It" button." click on where it says "Pin It" in that line. It takes you to a page and tells you exactly what to do. Right click the PIN IT on that new page and click on "Add to Favorites" scroll down and select your Favorites Bar, and it adds it right to your favorites bar. Then whenever you are on a page you click the PIN IT icon and it will post to Pinterest. |

Not sure if the 'followers' thing was really addressed. When you invite friends they become followers. If you click on the red Pinterest sign at the top of the page it will show you everything that your followers and people that you choose to follow have pinned for a period of time. The more followers and people you are following that you have the more ideas you see. You may choose to just follow certain boards from certain people as well, for example recipes, or DIY. You can also look at the area under the red Pinterest sign and choose an area that interests you from the 'everything' drop down box. Hover over the Everything sign and the box will drop down showing different categories that you can explore. Sometimes you will find someone that has lots of ideas pinned that you really like and you can choose to follow that person as well, again seeing the items that they pin. You can then repin those ideas that interest you onto one of you 'boards' or categories that you set up. To see your boards go to your profile picture, hover on it and the drop down menu will show you a 'boards' option. You can also set up a new board when repinning an item if you don't currently have a board you think the idea fits easily into. Hope this is clear....whew! |

I love Pinterest! I started by only re-pinning things other people had. If the people you follow aren't that "pinteresting" (ha!), try just browsing "Everything". I use Internet Explorer, and Pinterest crashes my browser ALL the time. If you have a slow computer, it may just take forever to pin... Or maybe the browser crashed. If you have a smart phone, the Pinterest app is pretty good -- MUCH faster, and doesn't crash. I still get a lot of messages saying, "oops, something went wrong!", but it still pins stuff, so yeah. If you post the error message you're getting, we can try and resolve it for you. It sounds like a security setting. I only recently started adding my own pins. I use the little IE addin that adds a "Pin It!" Button to the toolbar. I am redecorating, so I pinned a bunch of furniture I was looking at from different sites. I really love Pinterest for three things: first, it really helped me develop my personal style, because after a few months I could look back on everything I pinned, and recognize patterns. I was having an extremely hard time putting a "look" together for my place, and I realized it's because I like several different styles that don't go together at all. Second, it has really good tips. I now know what all those mysterious icons on clothes tags mean! They actually are information about how to clean the item, not just random little cartoons! Third, there are a lot of cute, funny animal pictures. I've repinned a bunch, and whenever I need a lift, I go review my collection. :) |
