What to do? My DH's brother is getting married in September. We are leaving Sep 28- Sep 30th. The wedding isnt far it is up the coast in Santa Barbara. The hotel we are staying at is pet friendly. I am not sure if I should take Peanut with us... It is not like we are going to be in the hotel that much- so he will just be sitting there by his self.. I have a couple options on what to do with him if I dont take him... #1 Take him to Camp Ilene which is his boarding place. He doesn't really like to spend the night there, so I don't really want to take him there. #2 Have my Mom watch him at her house... Which he adores her- he always is spoiled and taken care of at this Gmas!! #3 Have my friend watch him, which is the Mom of his best friend Todd (yorkie pom mix) Which I don't really want him to go there bc Todd humps Peanut all the time and Peanut really gets annoyed with it LoL I think I am down to taking him with or having my Mom watch him.... |
I'd be like you. My options would be between taking him with me or leaving with parent. I'd probably choose to leave him with my dad in that case - if he was going to be spending a lot of alone time in the hotel anyways, he would probably be better off with my dad. I bring him with me whenever I can, because obviously, he prefers being with me over anything... but yeah, in that case, I think I'd leave with your mom. :) |

I hear of people always taking their dogs on little trips and it makes me want to take Peanut, but I guess its different bc we are going to be wrapped up in the wedding, then the parties if I take him I am going to want to leave and go hang out with him LoL :p |
Sounds like staying at Grandma's is a nice option. How does your Mom feel about it? |
Definitely stay with your Mom |

3 Years ago DH and I went to the River- We were going to be gone for 5 days- My Mom watched him the whole time and even had a little incident! While Pnut was in the grass, he stepped on a wasp! My Mom ran him inside and lucky enough found the stinger and pulled it out, then rushed him to the Er. I get a picture text of Peanut with a little blue wrap around his paw (He had to have an IV)!! My Mom called me and told me what happened!! So aside from being a good Gma to Peanut she didn't panic in a emergency situation- I don't trust just anyone to watch my Baby!! |
I'd let Peanut have some one-on-one time with Grandma, so you and your hubby and fully enjoy the wedding and kick your heels up without worrying about getting back to the hotel room to take care of your pup. |

:yay_jump: Yeay I just called my Mom- She said she would love to watch him AND on top of it she is going to spend the night at my house the weekend we are gone! :D I feel so much better! I will have to get my Mom something nice for this... Ideas? :D |
I agree! Time at Grandma's is always fun! And I know when I leave KS with my Mom I don't worry at all. I know she is well taken care of there. :) |
There is only one possibility.;) Mom's! |
Does your mom have a Pandora bracelet? You could get her one or you could get her the little doggy charm they came out with recently as a thank you! Moms are the best for that! My mom lives 2500 miles away... but I remember when I was getting Dexter neutered and had a concert in the same night, my mom took him and watched him all night for me. You can always trust your mom to take care of your heart! :) |

You can get all different things for different costs. What's cool about it is, you can add beads for different holidays and reasons and fill it up over the years. It's slightly expensive to buy the bracelet and 1 bead at the same time, around $100, but then it's just beads after that. Look up Genuine jewelry | PANDORA |

Lovespandp I just suggested this on your "what to get mom" thread! I thought it would be cute for her - and each year she celebrates being sober you and your brother could add a charm to it :D |
