HELLP, In need of a new but FREE web builder.
 
Please Help...I am getting so frustrated with piczo.com !!! :mad:


I have had my site up since 2007 and it has taken me hours upon hours of time to maintain it and keep it updated with new information photos and what not. For the past year of so they have added ads right on top of my pages all #30 of them. At first all you needed to do was click on the remove link on each ad and it was gone. Now that is no longer an option. I have had to go in and move all of my text boxes, photos, decor and everything so that the ads are not covering up my work....

My site looks ridiculous now, it's not centered the way it should be and I am getting to the peek of my frustration dealing with this.

:mad: I HAVE HAD IT . .:mad:

Does anyone know of a nice FREE (not a trial) web building site. One that I can maintain on my own?

If so please provide the proper link and an example of the site if you use the site yourself.

Have you looked into Weebly? Weebly - Create a free website and a free blog

I do not have a site that is up and running on there. But know others who have used it.

We have a weebly site which is in my signature and haven't had any problems whatsoever.

Were you able to transfer your old site to the new, or do you have to do it yourself? My website is getting too expensive and I need to look for something cheaper. Your site looks great!

Yes... I think it was something to do with while I was still logged in to the site for editing. I checked and it's good now.

Thank you! You really should try it, I was amazing at how easy it was considering it took me a gillion hours to design my piczo site.

I'm not sure how I would go about doing that. I just did it myself using my old site info and copy and paste.

I love that pic too, found it on the internet years ago.

I love designing web sites... been doing for years for myself and family. You can look for photos on the internet and save them to your computer and than use them in your site.

Anyone who makes a new site or who already has one I would love to see your work. Please share...

If any of you need help figuring anything out, I can help you if you want. I am no expert but it was pretty easy for me since I have some experience with creating my own sites. I'm more than happy to help if I can.

Ok now that it is done... how do I get it out onto the world wide web. I have added tags but I think it may not be sufficient enough. I searched 20 pages of

(Yorkies puppies, for sale, in ohio) and still have not found my new site.

What else can I do?

Plus I'm almost afraid to close my old site because it is in so many of my message boards and social sites. I put so many long hours into building it..uhhh what to do? I have it set to private right now until I am 100% satisfied with my new one.

You will have to give your site a lot more time to be picked up by the search engines. Also, you don't want to close your old site. You want to 301 redirect your old domain name to your new one. You can check with the company who is hosting your old site. That way, if someone types in www.dawnsoldsite.com (ie) then it will auto direct them to your new weebly site.

Would you also be able to tell me how I go about linking my e mail address to my new weebly site? (so that it will open an outgoing email)

Do you pay for the Piczo site? In order to redirect from the old site to the new you will still need access to the old site.

go to your Piczo site and enter this html information somewhere at the top. Copy it exactly:

<meta HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" content="0; url=http://dawnsyorkies.weebly.com/index.html">

I'm not completely sure but I think for Piczo this is the only way to redirect the page. When you are finished it should do this:
