How to find a good new home for this girl? An acquaintance just asked me about rehoming her dog. She needs to find a new home right away but doesn't know how to go about it. No one she knows is interested in taking the dog in, and the rescues are all full. This lady does not want to take her dog to a shelter but she may have to if she doesn't find a home soon. All I can think of is Craigslist but I worry that isn't safe. This dog is a 3 year old spayed large mixed breed female. Any ideas would be appreciated. Bonny |
A lot of people here mention Petfinder and I think rescues use it. That's going to be a tough dog to place. |

Petfinder is a great idea! I thought it was only for approved rescues/shelters/etc. but I just looked around a little and they have classified sections where individuals can post about pets in need of new homes. For some reason I feel much more comfortable recommending she post on Petfinder than Craigslist. Thank you, Nancy!! |

How-ever Magic would never allow himself to be voluntarily taken away. hE would do a hell of a lot of damage first. Razzle of course is just sweet meat to those fighting rings. Ps I had both Magic and Razzle with me; |

I like the posting at the vet idea, too. You're on a roll today! :) |

I doubt Magic looks like a attractive "bait" for the rings, though. ;) |

I was worried you'd get upset about me mentioning dog fights, so many people think it's isn't in their state. |

She should check back with the rescues, even though they may not have room to take in her dog, they may allow her to post her dog on their website. |

BonBon I was shocked! In a big city like Toronto they have dog fighting rings! It is highly illegal here. How the heck do they get away with it? |

Bonny, send Robin an email. I am sure she will give you some wonderful tips!! She has worked with all breeds for many years and knows lots about placements. |
