site is being blocked by weird survey I am not sure if anyone else has come across this problem but I keep getting a page come up when trying to access YT. The page tells me that the site has been blocked for 24 hours unless I complete a survey. The issue isnt just on my computer it also occoured at my work computer and my brothers. All three computers in different locations. I am hoping that someone has some idea of what this is. If I keep closing the tab and try again I eventually connect with YT but it is a pain in the ***. Thanks :) :) :) |
I have seen this too!!!!! At home and at work. I wish someone would come along and tell us why it's happening. It's a fluke thing. For me, it's when I google YT and hit the link that way. |
It's most likely ad-ware. You'll want to run something that cleans up your machine. I use Firefox with an Ad blocker on my work computer and never run into issues with that. |

I have two internet security programs on my laptop and this is the only site that has ever given me any problems. Also it is occouring on multiple computers in various locations. I too thought that it was an issue with my laptop at home but having tested the theory on multiple computers I have to assume at this point that it is something else  |
Hmm, that's odd since it doesn't happen to me on any computers I'm on. They must be running something on the site for ad scripts that the ad script place has put something that maybe YT isn't aware of. This is what I use in Firefox. They have it for chrome too. I think Internet Explorer has their own add-on as well. Adblock Plus — for annoyance-free web surfing |

That's very odd. I've worked in IT security for 16 years and haven't seen something take over unless it's either purposefully given by the site or some kind of junk on the users workstation. My guess is it's an Ad that YT allows and the ad company went overboard. Happens way too often. |
Maybe it has something to do with the protest yesterday that Google participated in? Google shows its support for Blackout day - Online Best Latest Price Reviews | Features in India Totally guessing here! |
It's possible but you would think that it would happen to everyone....hmm... These type of problems get me thinking and wanting to find out lol....it's in my blood. |

I can't replicate it :/ but then again I do some adjustments to all my browsers to disallow a lot of things... I sure do hope you all find out what's bugging your browsers :) |
I can't get it to duplicate either, and I wasn't on YT, but a different site. It was black and basically said that some sites like Google and Wikipedia were protesting the bill in congress for internet censorship and Pinterest (that's the site I was on) has joined in the protest. They wanted you to take a short survey. Then it gave you an option to take the survey or a no thanks. Normally I wouldn't want to click on anything in a popup like that, but I was a "little" aware of what it was about and now that I said "no" I can't get it to duplicate. LOL. But, after saying no it wasn't persistant and the site worked fine. If you are getting something else though, it could be adware or a virus. I hope you get it figured out. |
I have a brand new Mac Pro right out of the box. Yesterday I googled YT and this survey popped up. There was no way the computer had a virus. When I tried again, the survey didn't show up. |
I have had the same problem when trying to get on the site with my IPad and my Macbook. It is some kind of grocery survey (or I should add it was for me). I noticed it happens when I Google "Yorkie Talk" and access from the search results. |
