I have been trying all morning (on scrap fabric) and its not working!!! thanks everyone! |
just *bumping* |
If you can not find the manual there is an old fashioned way to make a machine buttonhole. This may be a bit long. Mark your fabric for both ends of the button hole, remember this is for the harness to fit through and needs to be approx 3/4" long (I use a pin at either end). Make a bar tack at one end, with a zigzag stitch, keep needle in fabric and turn it for one long side of your buttonhole, zigzag to the next pin, needle in fabric and turn to make the next bartack (go slow so you can make it match the other end),needle in fabric turn for the last side of buttonhole, sew all the way to the first bartack,be sure to back stitch a bit to lock your stitches in. If you cannt find your manual, you can probably order one online, possibly a PDF that you can download and not have to wait on the mail. Good LUCK |
My Necchi is a model 3102FB and on the stitch selector are 3 positions to complete a buttonhole. The first position sews forward, then you switch to the second position to make the stop point of the button hole, switch to the 3rd position on the selector to go backwards making the opposite side of the buttonhole, then finally to the second position to once again make the closing or stopping point for the buttonhole. Do you have the buttonhole guide foot? |
Your machine is not like mine at all....looks like it has many more features. If all else fails you can order another manual. This place sells the downloadable manuals. Instruction Manual, Necchi 4575 (Download) |
thank you ladies! I ALWAYS keep the manual inside the pocket of the sewing machine cover...it must have fallen out! I do have a zipper foot...I just can't remember the settings I have to use...I am going to see if I can figure it out. thank you again! |

I took a sewing class when I was in junior high. I got a D. It was the only D I ever received. So, I think I'll withhold any advice. I wish I knew how to sew though...it'd be fun to make custom stuff. |
