Do you love your job???? A friend asked me the other day if I like what I do. I have three jobs at the moment but my main career is as an elementary school teacher. My friend makes triple what I make, just bought a house quadruple the size of the one I just bough and has a gorgeous brand new Lexus... But she had been complaining about her job for the previous 10 minutes or so. I told her I absolutely love every minute of spending time with my students. I am happy when I am at work and love those kids. To supplement my income I also tutor a few days a week, which I also adore! To help out with the rest of the bills I started selling Scentsy a few months ago. My next paycheck from Scentsy is $350 to put into savings and $125 worth of free product to have a wonderful smelling home. I work really hard but I love all my jobs! And I might not have a ton of money but I'm happy! :-) If there are any other teachers out there I'd love to hear how you supplement your income to make ends meat and if anyone is interested in joining my Scentsy team just let me know. :-) Happy New Year, everyone!!!! <3 |
I am in school to become an elementary teacher right now, still in college. I ended up going with this choice after many many months of trying to find either the "highest paying" or the "most fun" job and ended up deciding I just want to be happy for the most part and do something that I can be passionate about and enjoy, at least most days. Sure, I am never going to be a millionaire (far from it!) but I KNOW people who are millionaires who are pretty unhappy in their life. My lawyer is always telling me to go to law school and sure he's got tons of money, and he's also very good at what he does, but he's always stressed; he's often working late, etc. I just don't see how that would be a happy life, at least not for ME. So anyways, at the moment, I am a dogsitter and I loved my job but am about to stop due to my school schedule so will have to find something else. While in college, I'm not entirely worried about being too in love with a job, as it's mainly for money to get me by for now... but I hope I can come on here in 2yrs and say, yes, I am very happy with my job as a teacher. :) |

I am an 8th grade math teacher and yes I love my job. I will not lie and tell you that I don't get frustrated at times because I do. Some people think teachers have an easy job but really we don't. I spend lots of time at home creating my lessons and grading papers. But every time one of my students "get it" it reminds me of why I love my job. My first year as a teacher I had a very quiet student. The last day of school she wrote me a letter and put a picture of her in the envelope. She told me how much I meant to her and how much I had helped her to be successful. I cried like a baby. I remember telling my friends, this is why I teach! There is nothing in the world like seeing a student being successful. The pay is tough and I too have to supplement by doing tutoring. With that said, if I had it to all over again I would still chose teaching. So yes, I love my job! :) |
I am 54 yrs YOUNG....unfortunately trying to find a job at this age isn't easy....I bartend in a members club...for the most part I love it! However....being a private club comes A LOT of drama...but, I do love it and have lots of fun with the people there! I also have a manicurist license...I had my own business for 8 yrs...stopped for 13 yrs and started back again in my daughters salon twice a week...the extra money comes in handy..even though it isn't alot. |
