Computer help...viewing pictures My old Gateway crashed last week so I have a new Gateway tower with Windows 7 installed. I have ports on the front of the tower for camera cards but when I put my SD card in it doesn't do anything. Any ideas or help? |
Sounds like software/programs may have to be installed. Try hooking up your camera to the computer. That may activate/install what is needed to then use the cards. If that doesn't work, do you have a disc that came with your camera? Or try visiting the website of your camera and Microsoft. |
Thanks. I think I have it narrowed down...well, me and The Geek Squad! For some reason my camera and both computers have stopped recognizing my memory card so I need to reformat it but not until I get my pictures off the card and I can't seem to do that. When I hook the camera up to the computer with the cable it only downloads the pictures from the camera's memory, not the card. So, I may have to buy a mini memory card disc drive so I can download to that and save my pictures before reformatting the card. I hate new computers...there are always gremlins of some kind...grrr! |
Why don't you take the card to a Walgreens or a store with a photo center and have the files burnt to a CD. That may be less expensive, also they may be able to tell you if your card is bad and the files can be recovered. |
