Good thoughts and prayers... Hi Guys, I really need a miracle. My best friend Mom of 20's years has a cat. I love this cat as my friend and I found her in 1999, so she is pretty old. Anyways Amber (bff) called me and said baby is really sick, she started limping the other day (Mon night). She also said she wasn't really eating and drinking, she is also having a hard time breathing. My Bff's Mom took her into the vet Tues. They were so rude to her, they said we need to do xrays, mind you it was 70$ for the exam, they told her the xrays were going to be 200$ and they HAVE to put her under which is 50$, Her Mom doesn't really have that kind of money.. Her Mom had to go to work so she told them she would think about seeing what she can do to treat her. She was going to leave and one of the techs said you can leave her here for 100$ for boarding so we can do the xrays!!! I couldn't believe this vet! I have never heard of HAVING to put something down to run any tests. I know you always try first and then if you have to you have to put them under, but this cat is very sick and older so that really pissed me off! Thankfully her Mom took Baby home. Bff called me and I told her you should at least get a full panel bloodwork done on her- Since she is older she might be having kidney failure, or something internally going on. It is not going to matter if they do xrays and try to treat her leg when something inside is healthy. So I called my vet and asked if he can help her, she is my good best friend and her Mom doesn't have that much money. So he said of course bring her in and we will run blood first and go from there, and he said he will wave the exam fee! Ahh I feel better! So my bff is coming down today at 430 to take Baby in, she wants me to meet here there, her Mom isnt going to come bc she is so upset and she had such a horrible experience with that other vet. So please say some prayers for Baby! I love this cat like my own. I hope it is something we can fix!! |
*Isnt healthy* tried to change it but it was 5 mins after |

I am so thankful for him- he really cares and tries to help out the owner. He will always try to start out little and move up in treatment if necessary. I have sent so many people to him, I told him I want some commission LoL . |
Aw hope all goes well for this little baby. |
Praying for Baby... |
Thanks guys! I'm worried for her! My bff did text me and said baby licked some gravy, that's better than nothing I guess. She will not eat or drink- she turned down lunch meat too! I will post as soon as I find out anything more! |
I will keep Baby in my prayers. |
I'm sorry to hear Baby is sick. Thank goodness you have a wonderful vet that is taking care of Baby. Please keep us updated on Baby is doing. |
we lost her I just got home- the first thing the vet wanted to do is an xray on her chest, he said she was breathng as if she has fluid in her lugs... Sure enough she did. She had so much fluid in her lungs you couldn't even see her heart. The vet said he is 99.9% she has F.I.P. he said we can drain her lungs, treat her but the fluid will just build up.. in the state she was in he didn't see her making it a week. Joanne (bff's mom) decided to let her go. She couldn't stand to be there when they did it, so she asked me if I could stay with her. I was there for her last breath. It was very hard for me- I've known this cat for a long time, I remember finding her with my bff. My bff and her Mom took baby home to have a nice funeral- her Dad is going to make her a casket and bury her in her favorite spot in the backyard. Thanks for all the prayers, she will be missed. Well we put her to rest this mornng. RIP Baby. My friend and I were looking through some old photos and we found one back n 1999 ( I was 18!) I was holding baby when she was just a little kitten- made me upset, but I know she had a wonderful life! |
