VENT...soooo uncomfortable and hurting. 4 weeks to go! I'm so uncomfortable. Luke has dropped and my back, pelvis, and other areas around my hips are killing me. I can't walk for but a few minutes before I'm in so much pain I have to stop and sit down. My lady parts are on fire from the pressure. I have a pillow at work to lean against but it's not helping my back a bit. I am only comfortable lying on my side and even that doesn't last too long. I need to try to work another two weeks because our back up coverage really isn't here until after the 17th but I'm not sure I'll make it. My vacation and sick days add up to 17 days so I can use them starting middle of next week if I have to. I'm quitting work to stay home so my official quit date is Jan 6. I will never make it that far. Pray that I can hold up through this week and half of next at least. My birthday is Thursday and dh and I are going to dinner on Saturday one last time to a really nice romantic Italian place called Cafe Verona. It's on a historic square. SO excited just hoping I can still walk. We also need to make a last baby run to get what we don't have yet before he's here. Anyways lots of changes coming, super painful meanwhile. Hoping he's a tad early so I can get some comfort. I'm sleeping on the couch now since I can get in/out of the bed and roll over in bed as easily. PHEW ALMOST THERE need some encouragement. |
Hang in there...one day you'll look back and barely remember the pain. Well, you remember that you had the pain, but you realize it was all worth it! My feet hurt sooooo bad when I was prego with my son. I worked retail back then, up to 12 hours a day with only a 30 minute break 1 or 2 times a day and was on my feet the rest of the time. I used to come home and cry because my feet hurt so bad. During my second pregnancy it was my back that hurt. The last few months I slept on a blanket on the bedroom floor. It was the only way I could get any sleep. The third child I adopted! No physical pains there! ;) The emotional pains of waiting and worrying were a hundred times worse though....seriously! Just keep telling yourself you CAN do it. Positive thinking helps a lot! (((hugs))) |
When you lay on your side put a thin pillow under the baby, and one between your legs. That helped me. I am sorry you are having such pain. Believe me it is soooooo worth it. When you see that little face for the first time. Everything else in the whole world goes away. It is amazing. You have to try to sit and stay off your feet as much as possible. I know it is hard. I did it with my second and my first was only 18 months old. It is not easy. Try to rest. I had sciatic pain and it was so hard to turn in bed and to walk. Hang in there it's only a few more weeks. |
I am sorry you're so miserable. I hope you can make it through the 17th. Hang in there, if you can, sweetie.:) |
Chiropractor!!! They can adjust you to ease the pains, and keep you adjusted to help with labor and delivery when it happens. |
Oh my goodness, I remember it well!! :) It doesn't matter how much you shift around, nothing seems to help? And I'm sorry about the pain in your lady bits!! :D All I can say is, whatever you go through, when littlie arrives you will forget all the detail - it will become a blurry memory - because you'll have a beautiful end result. And that will be worth every single moment of all this. Good luck, hope it's sooner rather than later :) Sally x |
Oh, I do remember how miserable it can be so close to the end. But....you are almost there! Hope you can make to the 17th, we be keeping my fingers crossed. Good Luck...soon you have your precious little baby boy home. How very wonderful, I'm so excited for you both! |
Rach, you will make it, just a while longer. Hang in there, and before you know it, your little bundle of joy will be making you crazy for the next 21 years. Pain is only temporary, the baby is forever. |

Bless your heart. I hope you find relief soon. The pillow under the baby and between your legs is a good suggestion. It worked for me too. But, like you I slept on the couch a lot of nights. |
OMG! Time flies!! I remember when you first found out you were pregnant. Wow! Bless your heart on being uncomfortable. It is so uncomfortable at the end. Hang in there sweetheart! You will be holding that gorgeous baby before long! |
UPDATE: Dr. visit today. Baby is doing great! He's getting down in the right position and his head is in the birth canal. I am 1cm dialated and 25 percent effaced. They will not stop labor if it comes anytime at this point but hoping he waits another week or two just to have better lung development. Almost there I can see the light at the end of this long tunnel. Ready to hold my son for sure. |
Great news that all is moving forward.;) Hang in there for a bit & it'll soo pay off. I remember it getting so uncomfortable the last 2 wks. & I had to sleep in my mom's bed to sleep at all. Pillow between your knees is a great idea, it will help relieve a lot of lower back pain. A hot bath is nice too if you keep it quick, or just take a longer, warm one. Take care & good luck.:) |
Oh how exciting!! You may not make it a week girl! I went to Dr. on Friday with my son and was at 2 cm. He was born on Monday!! :) Keep us updated! Hugs, best wishes, and prayers to you and baby Luke! |
You might not make it to the 17th afterall. So happy to hear baby is doing great. |
