Profile pages
 

Isn't anyone decorating their profile pages anymore? I used to love to visit everyone's page to see what they had done. It also led me to look at thier pictures and learn more about them.

Your profile is beautiful! I try, I honestly do...:p But, then I get busy and before I know it, it's June and I still have Christmas up. :cool:

I don't see anything decorated :confused: Does it have something to do with my settings?

You have a pretty profile page. I would do it, but I have no idea how it's done. Heck I just learned how to do a album ! LOL So I have to add some more pictures to it.

Your page is beautiful. It takes time and it's so hard to find it for all of the things I want to do. I did do my page, but it's very simple. Kind of like me, I suppose.:p

Thanks for this thread..I tend to forget about my profile page. Mine had been the same for almost 2 years:eek: I never could figure out how you all do the bling and all the bells as whistles like your beautiful page. I just did mine for Christmas and just did a basic background and changed border colors. :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Oh I can't wait to see everyone's! It's really not hard - it can be time consuming though - until you do it a few times. I used to do it every month a couple of years ago.

The thing that took the most time for me was finding the pictures for the backgrounds I wanted to use. I finally decided to make several folders in my pictures area on my computer. I have one for backgrounds/wallpapers, one for glitters, and one for holidays. That way when I do see something I like I have somewhere to save it to right away.

Once you've saved them to the folder all you have to do is add them to your album on here.

I use the preview button a lot to see how things are looking while I'm decorating. I do leave some items the same no matter what I'm doing... that's usually the size of the padding, font and print size.

All of mine are simple - I use solid colors on the headers and the pictures on the background.

You can use any picture as long as you save it to your computer first. I get most of my stuff on here:

Here's some tips for those wanting to decorate their pages:

To use wallpapers on your profile page, you have to upload them to an album and mark that album "profile." This link tells more about albums, How to Make an Album, and this link tells about setting up your profile page: Decorating your Profile page, post 45 in that thread shows exactly where you can use the wallpaper, it's wherever you see the words, "background image."
Here's a picture from that thread: Where to paste wallpaper. See the little "yellow mountains" in the picture? If an album has been marked "profile" instead of public or private, you will see yellow mountains, and when you press on the mountains it will show you the wallpaper in your album, and you can just pick the paper you want for various places. You may have several different profile albums, and it will list all your albums.

If you find a background paper you like, just "right click" it and choose "Save picture as." You don't need a big picture because Yorkietalk "tiles" the picture. After you saved the picture on your computer, upload it to an album you created on Yorkietalk.

I updated my profile! Thank you Nancy! I started at 8:00 and here it is 10:45 with a few interruptions but not many, LOL. Maybe if I would do it more often, I'd get faster at it. :p:D With my theme, I might be good till spring in case I forget.

One tip I found that helps is to send the completed profile page to your email address. Just go to "File" and "send page by email." If you ever want to use that version again, and haven't removed the things from you albums, you can copy and paste the different instructions. Okay, it's 9:55 right now, I'll tell you how long it takes to put up last years profile!

Connie, your page is beautiful and even with the customization, it is very easy to read! I don't customize my page - I just don't have the time or energy :D. My page used to stay beautified by a member who isn't around very much any more. I usually keep the "hide user customization" feature turned on because many of the pages (NOT YOURS) are very difficult to read.

Okay, it's 10:20, and my page is done, most of the time was spend trying to find my old profile picture for Christmas (new computer) and a song for U-tube, still haven't found one I want. Anyway. it really cuts down time if you save your old profile page instructions and then you can always tweak a few things.
