My mom is the best woman on earth, dh not so much My mom came down yesterday because I have been battling a cold and was sick from work on Friday and feeling horrible about how messy my house was getting. She came and cleaned it top to bottom so it's like a shiny new penny. I don't know what I'd do without her and she is simply the best mom anyone could have. We made dinner and ate together with my dh when he got home. Really great day, i exhausted myself with what little I was able to help, but all in all a beautiful home and was hoping to relax all day today. Then today my dh decides to get a few more errands done and at some point he goes outside in socks and picks up leaves all over them and when I ask him to please stop walking on the clean carpets and take off his socks he's all pissy at me. I said to him "How dare you make this mess after all we did yesterday" he's been a butt head all day anyways in some kind of bad mood that he seems to always be in these days. every time he's home from work on a day off he is trying to get all these darn projects done which i appreciate but i need rest today from this sickness before work tomorrow and he's off tomorrow and gets to goof off and prob destroy my perfectly clean house. why are men such butt heads??? why do they mess up everything you kill yourself to do? and what's with the s**tty attitude?? |
I have discovered a Pregnant wife usually brings it out in us! |

Maybe that is true, but when my dh wants to be a butt head he does it without my help!! |
Rachel....You are really posting about a clean house and your DH not taking off his socks.... If cleanliness were my only issue right now I'd be a very complete woman. I wish nothing but the best for you. |
So glad your mom was able to come and help you. Mom's are the best. Treasure her!! As for your dh that's just the way they are!!! period. They just don't think sometimes. Maybe if they carried around a pregnant belly 24/7 they would think differently. I think you probably get more rest at work.. lol. They can make you nuts sometimes!! |
I find it is due to their misguided belief that the house is kept clean by little elves that live in the cupboards in the kitchen. They seem to believe these elves come out while DH is not at home and clean the whole house. It's elfin magic! ;):p |

i have a great husband who often times helps clean the house and in the middle of the sock mess was actually cleaning my ceiling fans for me and went outside to shake off the sheets we put down to protect the carpets. i'm hormonal and unappreciative and you made me realize just how petty and foolish it is to complain over it. hugs friend, i know it's hard for you, but you are going to keep your chin up and push through it girl, you are strong and amazing and will get through it. so sorry to be such a petty butt head myself |

Yikes! I hope your DH doesn't have a YT account. ;) In all seriousness...one of the BEST gifts you can give your children is loving their father and providing them with a mom and dad who get along well. One of my favorite self help books is "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands" by Dr. Laura Schlessinger. It is a really good book. Most husbands (unless they really are jerks) are very easy to love and get along with. They just want good food, good lovin', and respect. From what I've read from your posts...you have a good husband. He was cleaning the fans, right! Just wanted to nose in your business with my two cents worth. ;). Good luck to you both! |

mine is a wonderful man that i whine about on rare occasions but mostly brag about for his amazing love and being such a big help to me. i can't imagine going through relational hardships and i hurt for anyone that is dealing with anything but a happy marriage right now. God Bless the men that stand by their women and do the right thing. and may the ones that do harm and wrong to others get theirs in the long run. |
