Andy Rooney, American Journalist Died Today at 92 Andy Rooney, an amazing journalist with a wry intelligent wit, an author, a producer, a newspaper columnist, and best known for his cranky TV personality with a unique sense of humor and an editorial for every topic... died today at the age of 92. An American institution in his own right, he has been with CBS since 1949! Who among us has not listened in on 60 Minutes to hear "A Few Minutes with Andy Rooney?"* His dear wife of 62 years, Margie Rooney, died in 2004. (62 years with the same wife, 62 years with the same broadcasting company!! He was sure a man of loyalty, stability and consistency!) It is said that he grieved so very deeply for her that he could not even bear to write her name as it was just too painful. So, now today, they are joined again. May they both RIP together. We will miss you Andy Rooney! |
That's so sad. I loved watching his segments. RIP Andy Rooney. |
You know, I haven't watched 60 Minutes in a long time. I happened to tune in a few weeks ago and saw Andy's last segment; he was retiring. He said he loved what he did and I remember wondering if that was what kept him going. RIP Andy Rooney. |
Thank you Andy Rooney. You will be missed. |
He lived a long life, doing what he loved to do. I wish the same for us all!! He will be missed |
He had an amazing life, career and marriage! I hope that in the end it was peaceful and is now back with his beloved. Andy will be missed! |
Does anyone know what minor procedure he had that resulted in the complication that hospitalized him and if that is what caused his death? |
I loved Andy Rooney and will miss him. I can't recall having ever heard a single disrespectful word said against him and that speaks volumes! R.I.P Andy Rooney. |
