Cell Phone Plans What carrier do you have, and what kind of plan is it? Do you like it? What are the best features of the plan? What don't you like about it? Please be brutally honest. I want to switch my family to a different plan. I want to see what others think and what actual customers think of their phone plans. I'd really appreciate your help! :) |
Well, me and my grandma are on the same plan, or a family plan, whatever. We both have iPhones so it's a bit more pricey than just a regular ole' phone but I don't think it's too bad. I think it's like $150 a month for the two of us... that's with unlimited texting, unlimited data and all that stuff that comes along with the iPhone on both of our phones. I think it's something like $20/month for unlimited texting and my data plan is $30/month for unlimited. I am on AT&T and have been for a while and always happy with it. Was on Verizon before but did not see a huge difference. I've always had great luck w/ AT&T's customer service  |
I have iPhone for verizon and I am really satisfied. I pay $90/month but that's only cause I pay $10 for insurance. I have one of the lowest minute plans - 450 minutes a month. I get unlimited texts and have unlimited data. A year ago I switched to AT&T so i could get the iphone but after having it for 4 months, I got frustrated that I did not have unlimited data. So I sold my phone, used that money to pay my termination fee and got the iphone for Verizon when it came out. Happy with the plan but I've been having minor software problems with my phone which is annoying. Anytime I go to the Apple Store and try to show them these problems, they never happen until after I leave...so annoying. lol |
I'm still on my mom's plan. It's just way cheaper that way. I have an iPhone - base rate for my plan since it's an add-on line is $10, plus $25 for data plan, and like $20 for unlimited texting. We are on AT&T. We have around 900 minutes, plus unused minutes roll-over to the next month, so we've banked a lot of extra ones. Unlimited AT&T mobile-to-mobile, unlimited nights and weekends, unlimited texting on all 4 lines. 2 lines (mine and brother) with data packages. I have no idea how much the entire monthly bill for the 4 of is. We haven't run into any service issues, and we've basically been on the same plan 2002. :) |

It's like paying monthly for water usage. I have the pipes, but every time I run the water, I get charged extra. What's the point of paying for empty pipes????? My fam shares a small amount of minutes, but we really don't use them much, so it isn't a big deal. I just want to be able to use all the features we pay for. |
We are on Verizon and pay 230.00/mo for 4 phones. That's 2 iphones with data packages, 1 phone with a partial data package, and 1 flip phone, and insurance on 2. I don't know, this seems very high to me, but we've been unsuccessful finding something cheaper for the phones we have. |
We have a Verizon family plan. It's...around $120 a month. 700 minutes, unlimited texting on both lines. No data plan. Free Verizon to Verizon. No minute usage on nights and weekends. The coverage seems to be best for the areas we frequent, so that's why we stick with it (although I'm hearing a lot about AT&T and even T-Mobile doing better than them now). But still, in a couple areas that we go, Verizon is the only carrier that works so far. I've heard many a complaint about thier customer service, but I think sometimes people call and start throwing a fit right away. IF you're kind to them, they're kind to you. They have fixed a few overages oopses by just upping our plan for that month or whatever. When it comes to actually haggling for better deals though (no termination fee bc we didn't want to pay it on a line), they probably aren't quite so accommodating. Not really their fault though. We are very displeased with their phone selection right now. At this time, we see no reason to spend $30/month (or even $10/month) to have internet on our phones. However, they are apparently playing this new game that consists of them only letting their nice phones go to data users. The rest of us get pure crap. I have a hard time even finding one or two with a texting keyboard on their site without requiring data (and the reviews on these aren't promising). Could get a phone elsewhere, but after so long they are cheap or free through them (I think like every 2 years?). I don't even mean teh iPhone or Droid. I mean a new phone with a keyboard. Non-existent after they d/c'ed the Zeal (which I think I'm about to buy through somebody else). It's just ridiculous. So mad about it that the only reason we stay is the coverage. The last phone I got was the Cosmos and it is complete and total garbage. It's nice for texting, but absolutely horrible for calling. And apparently it can unlocked and unmute itself..in my pocket. How that works I do not know. |

We only use a cell phone when we are out of the house - like if Bruce has to call me from the store or something. We had Sprint as I was using it for business and we were paying (with taxes) $50 a month. But since I didn't need it for business any more I found out we were only using about 20 minutes a month at the most. So, canceled the Sprint and went to Walmart and got a Tracfone. If you don't use a lot of minutes that is the best deal. Got the phone in April and put $20 on it and just put another $20 on it and got plenty of minutes left. Won't have to put another $20 until January or February. |
I have ATT and it sucks too high and crappy service.... Plus my land line has been out 3 months and I call and call and call and they are like they are coming tomorrow. |
My boyfriend and I have Sprint, and we both have the HTC EVO. We have the Everything Data plan which is 1500 shared anytime minutes, unlimited data, unlimited calls to any mobile phone (any carrier) anytime, unlimited texts, unlimited nights and weekends starting at 7pm, unlimited picture mail, and voicemail and caller ID. We pay $148.99 every month. The everything data plan is $129.99 for us both, but we have premium data add ons of $10/phone. Not all phones have the extra charge. We have $13 off because of our credit union (they have different discounts you might qualify for), so after taxes and fees it's $148.99. The unlimited data is everything online. Emails, youtube, facebook, everything. I think we have sprint tv or something on there too. Also Navigation is free, which I love and have used with my job :) It's been great with no extra fees. |
we have t-mobile and think it's the most reasonable pricing. two phones with 750 shared min and unlimited texting for about 80 a month. cheapest one we found for unlimited text. |
Well I am not sure about the best, but I do know that my husband and I have TMobile and HATE it!!! It is $175 a month for both of us. We have unlimited calls, text, and web. And the free phone we got is horrible! It rarely works right and we literally have to take the battery out and restart it to get it to stop blinking sometimes. We get crappy service, if any service at all. The internet is slow as all get out. We are seriously considering just paying to get our of our contract and go elsewhere. There customer service has been horrible for us and overcharged us at least 10 times. I had to go to the T Mobile store to get it taken care of. I'm sure there are many happy with T Mobile, but we are not one of them. Just my opinion. Good luck finding a provider! |
