Off to Hawaii My DH and I are flying to Hawaii tomorrow morning! I'm excited about that but not excited about leaving Molly. Since we are empty nesters, Molly is like our third child. We are having a friend watch Molly. She is an experienced dog sitter. Some of my concerns are: she has two cats and a yellow lab that are all bigger than Molly. We have never been away from Molly for more than a night. Molly is pad and outside trained 100%. I'm afraid she will regress while we are gone. I guess I need some reassurance that she will be alright. The sitter will e-mail me daily and sent me pictures of her. We are dropping her off in about 4 hours and I'm already getting weepy.:cry8: |
I am so with you. We are heading to Vegas in Nov. I think the hardest part is leaving them behind. Annie is going to stay with our Vet tech. I know she is in wonderful hands but she also has a 2 year old daughter and a bigger dog. I am sure your baby will be fine. But, it doesn't make it any easier. Have fun in Hawaii. Wish I could stow away in your suitcase, I have always wanted to go there. |
Aww..Molly will be all right. Have her text you at least the first few days with little updates. That usually helps. :) Where in Hawaii are you going? What island? Have you been here before? If you need any tips on what to do or where to go for that matter to eat just let me know. I know some of the best hole in the wall local places to eat here on Oahu. ;) Enjoy your vacation and have a safe flight. |
I hope you guys have a wonderful trip! It sounds like Molly is in good hands too! |
You will have the time of your life. Airplane trip is very very long but worth it. Are the fish still in the pool at the airport? Have fun & don't worry about Molly - Yorkies adapt quickly. |
Tomorrow (Thursday) is our last day in Kona. We are having a great time but really miss Molly. Called dog sitter on Saturday and e- mailed on Tuesday. She said Molly is doing great. Molly's been sleeping in her lap a lot. Any suggestions for a gift for Molly? |
hmmm...she can't have Kona coffee...and Macadamia nuts are out..lol Not too sure. A hula skirt? Or a cute hawaiian themed stuffed animal? I hope you've been having a great time! My hubby's side of the family is from Kona. :) |

When you get back and first pick her up, that is all the presents she will need! |
Hope you enjoy Hawaii. Aloha! |
Glad Molly is doing well and you are enjoying your trip. |
