Hey everyone! I made myself a brand new avatar all by myself! Do you like it? It isn't as good as the one PassionFruition made for me, but I was ready for an avatar change so I made myself a new one. How do you like it? :D :D :D Feel free to criticize and give me pointers to make the next one better!!

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I have a program similar to Passion's. It came with my stepdad's digital camera. It works just as well, but it akes a bit longer to make the avatars then with Passion's program. It's fun though! :D :D Thanks again everyone for the kind words.

SoCal, its a photo editing program to retouch your photos, fix them, make photo crafts, etc. It's called Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0. They have a new version of it out, but 2.0 works just fine for me.

I have Photoshop but not very good at it. Took a class, but the teacher sucked. :rolleyes:

When Val made my avatar, I noticed it was done in layers, but how do you animate the layers. Is it called something in particular so I can search the help topics?

I need to get a new one with Widget in it!

Way to go Midge5353 !!! You did a great job - I wish I had someone I could watch to learn that ....I use PE2 for my avatars too - but haven't got into text and stuff at all - I just do pictures

Sherry Lynn.... I taught myself how to do certain things by searching the web for tuts - you can type in 'animate pictures' and the program you want to do this in and find lots of help .....In Photoshope Elements 2 - when you're done and get ready to animate - you "Save for WEB...it pops up a window where you can set your time and loop the pictures -

No Idea How To Do It
 
Well as ya'll can see..I have no experience with the avatar at all. My picture of Caesar is so plain but I have no idea how to make it prettier. I'm just glad that ya'll can see him!!! :D For some reason I had to shrink my picture to even get it to fit the avatar.??????? I had such a hard time with it. POST AS MUCH AS YOU CAN ON THIS TOPIC!!!! I WOULD LOVE TO LEARN HOW TO DO IT!!!

Yes, it is done in layers. After you have all of your layers, you go up to File and down to Save fore Web.. (Or thats what I do in PE2.0) and a big window will come up. Check the animate box and the loop box at the very bottom. Then click Save for Web or whatever. I don't have the program open so some of my wording might be off. If you want specifics just PM me or IM me on AIM at shortirishcuti. Making the avatars (or at least one like mine) is actually very simple. PassionFruition's avatars are more complex and I have trouble using some effects that she does.

chrislynn5, if you are still having trouble making one, I'd be glad to make one for you. Just post here, PM me, or IM me on AIM at shortirishcuti.

Vilette, I love your avatar just the way it is. Text is really easy to put in too if you ever wanted to add any. If you have any questions just post here, PM me, or IM me on AIM at shortirishcuti. :D

Vilette, that is soooo awesome! I haven't tried putting any clipart in my avatars yet. I am thinking about trying it soon but I'm afraid I'll competely mess it up! Ha ha! Anyways, that really is cool! I LOVE IT!! :D :D :D

You GOT to try it !! I used Gifs snagged from xmas sites...then made them transparant - and played around from there getting them shrunk and then you MERGE Visible when you have the gif layered where you want it -

Do I sound like I know what I'm talking about ?

I sort of have some directions I can send you for making Gifs transparent after you snag them from the net
