OMG I am shocked!
 

So DH and I had Kaiser health insurance, well it was getting to be too much money so we had to cancel, luckily I was able to get health insurance with my work. Well I contacted a Dr I liked ( his office) and talked to the receptionist, I gave her the number to call to get my records... Well I made my apt for Tuesday thinking they would have my records by then and I wouldnt have to reschedule my apt.

I call this morning, no answer. I thought "maybe" they got in at 10 I called back at 10, no answer, I thought maybe they took the day off cuz of the holiday weekend... I then faxed in a paper basically saying whats up.

I finally got a call back, it was the front desk manager. She sounded really upset and stressed out. She began to tell me that the Dr was unable to take in apt's and she would let me know when I can reschedule... I said ok... then she began to say... Well the Dr.. and she paused. To me it sounded like she was going to tell me he died.. She said that he was accused of "some things" and she would find out more today. She almost tried to justify his actions by telling me she has worked with him for 5 years and he would never do what he was being accused of! I didnt really ask bc I knew she probably wouldnt tell me so I just told her I hoped everything worked out and to let me know.. I left it at that and hung up!

Then I was curious what happened so I googled it and guess what!! He is accused of eight felony charges!!

Dr. Ramon Fakhoury, 35, is facing charges of forcible acts of sexual penetration, sexual battery, assault with the intent to commit felony, and crimes against elder adult, among others.

OMG! Can you believe this? I am still kinda in shock.. I was going to see this guy on Tuesday! Unbelievable! He owns two offices and he was filling in as a urgent care Dr at Loma Linda, which is a wonderful hospital!

I just had to share this, I cant believe it!!

I had the same reaction as Lisa. Oh my!!!!! I'm glad you didn't go see him at all. I got chills. That is beyond creepy.

That is sooooo creepy. Yuck! Glad it came out before you went to him but sorry for the poor ppl who suffered at his hands (if it's all true).

Oh my goodness. I read the article and could hardly believe it that you almost had an appt. with this guy. Thank goodness things worked out that you didn't go into his office!!! Do you have any way you can go to your state's medical board and look for any kind of former complaints, etc. Or Google the name with the word "complaints" and see what comes up for your next doctor choice? Whew! What a close call. I have worked for 7 doctors in my life, up to 4 in our group at once, and the current a practice of 2, and found each of them to have stellar patient interactions, thankfully, or I would have been long gone. What so-called "medical professional" could betray his wonderful profession of helping people this way?

It's happened with others. For some reason, I'm not surprised. There are more sickos out there than you can count! Remember the children's doctor on the east coast somewhere? It wasn't that long ago...a year or two or so. In that case, I can't imagine a mother allowing a doctor alone with a child in this day and age.

Creepy! This reminds me of the fertility doc that used his own "donations" to artificially inseminate his patients.
