I agree, your's does seem to have a more elongated abdomen.

They are very fast, but if you take a longish type stick and mess up the web everyday, she'll probably move on her own.

Just keep in mind all spiders carry venom, it's how they eat... Funnel Web Spiders are highly venomous and deadly in Australia....
It's not a wolf spider. We have them here in Florida, and at least the ones I have seen, do not look like that.??

If it were me and I wanted her to move on I would just remove her web daily with a broom. She will get the hint and move on.

But~on the other hand you might want to keep her around for Halloween :witch-hat-icon: :pot-icon: :pumpkin-icon: :witch5:

EWWWW! I'm sorry but, she would NOT be living near my front door...she would be removed! HATE spiders!!! they make my skin crawl!!

OMG I am so freaked out just looking at that picture. It sure does make my skin crawl. If that thing was any where near my front door or any door for that matter it sure wouldn't be there for long.

It looks like a wolf spider, but I've never seen a wolf spider in a web like that.

Ewww I ABSOLUTLEY HATE spiders!! They scare the bejeebies out of me!! Keep in mind, I have never even seen such a big one in my life!! :p I would definitely be removing it or move. lol Can it go inside your house? I would be very cautious where your baby goes!! That spiders venom could be hazardous to a small yorkie!! Looking at the pictures, I don't think yours is a wolf spider...not hairy enough. Good luck!!

It does look like the wolf spiders we have here. That is, if I am identifying ours correctly:rolleyes:. Ours usually have their webs on the ground, but it is not uncommon to see them build webs up off the ground or in corners like the corners of our wood privacy fences and brush. This time of year we start to see a lot of them coming into our garage and we have found them in our house on occasion. The last couple of years, we have been seeing a different kind of spider hanging around. I need to have it identified. I am afraid it might be a hobo spider, and that terrifies me. I hear they are aggressive.

I would be moving and giving that spider my house! You are brave to sneak up and take a pic! I can't be much help in identifying. The bugger we get around here is the brown recluse.

They are!!! They scare me to death!

it looks like that hobo spider to me more than the funnel one. i'd get rid of her quick honestly :( eewwww

I got looking at your link earlier... Then into repercussions of a brown recluse bite and forgot to come back here! Lol. Is it still around? Have you decided what you wanted to do about it?
