Bella's big scare! So Bella gave me a heart attack today! She fell into the toilet....I am not joking she really fell into the big toilet. We have been trying to potty train my 3 year old for a while now and he has started to go a little well this morning he wanted to go so I went to the bathroom got his little step stool and put his converter on. I dident think about it because we had just woke up and I was still half asleep so when he got done we just came in here in the living room. I turned on his cartoons, got Tibbs out to pee and poop and filled his and Bella's bowls up with food and water then I noticed Bella was not in the room so...I started calling for her....then I herd her crying I knew it was coming from the bathroom I went in there and looked I could hear her but couldent see her...Then I heard water splashing and sure enough there she was in the toilet....soaking wet and shaking...I got her out and gave her a quiick bath even though the toilet was flushed....It scared me to death I will never leave his stool out again or ever leave my bathroom door open. All I keep thinking about is how she could have drown ....I feel like such a bad mommy I could cry :( Thank God she is ok! |

Oh my! That is so scary! Thank God she was ok! |
i think there is an old post on here where someones baby drowned in the toilet, it was sad. glad your baby is ok, i always shut the bathroom door. |
I know I honestly never thought about her falling into the toilet ....Never even crossed my mind! |
My DH and I just talked about this in regards to Mikki. Rosie is not one that we ever had to worry about. While Mikki is a braver spirit and just curious enough to jump in. This just helps to remind us that it could happen. We too will be keeping the seats down and the doors closed. |

It is just like anything else, we all learn from things like this! :) |
I am glad Bella is ok. It is good of you to post this. I had never thought about it, until another member had it happen to them (I think it was last year) She wasn't as lucky and her little one did drown. You are not a bad mommy, accidents happen and just be thankful you were alert to the fact that Bella was missing. |

Don't beat yourself up...who would have thought:rolleyes: I know you must have been so scared and she is alright....that is a blessing. Thanks for sharing, it has brought it to our attention. So very glad she is ok. |
So glad you posted this, I never thought of this, my 4 are never near the bathroom but it could happen. So happy for you and Bella that you found her in time, this would have been a terrible tragedy. Prayers are with you, I know you are still upset over this. Lots og hugs for you and Bella. |
Oh my goodness I am glad that she is Ok. It was good of you to post about it, this way other people can learn from this. Most people wouldn't think about a dog doing this, but it does happen. |
Whew, so glad your baby is okay! That must have scared the you-know-what out of you! There is a member here whose young puppy drowned in just this manner, very sad. Ever since then, I keep our toilets' lids down. I never thought about that before then, either! Thanks for posting this as a reminder, especially for those that have little puppies that tend to get into trouble. Hugs! |
Thanks for being so supportive guys! |
I'm glad that you realized she was missing and found her. I remember reading the thread by the member whose puppy was being potty trained, so she locked her in the bathroom when they couldn't watch her. I think they found her in the morning in the toilet :( Ever since then, I am really careful and close the bathroom door whenever we aren't home. |
