I'm sorry you have this Bonny and I hope you find a comfortable device that works for you. Inquiring minds want to know, did your furbabies accompany you to the sleep test? For the sake of accuracy, they should have been there. ;););) |
I hope you can find a good cpap - so many people I know start out with one and soon give it up. I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. |
Oh I wish you speedy solutions .. I Agree to get a second Opinion, just to be sure. If it is sleep apnea and you get it solved you will feel so much better! |

Thank you! :) I only know a few people who use their machines regularly, but those few swear by theirs. The others don't really have an answer for why the don't wear theirs, but I can just imagine the hassle it is to wear one every night. Right now I'm just almost desperate to get the machine so I can get started. I'm tired of being tired, tired of not feeling good, just tired. :( I'll be happy if this just helps bring my blood pressure down - I know that's a big part of why I don't feel well. My BP is my biggest concern in all of this - it was hanging around 200/130 for awhile. Meds have it down some but not enough. |
I'm sorry to hear about this. You remember the thread Ann had on it? http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/off...eep-apnea.html I'm sure she could offer some great advice, if she could use her hands! Hope you find a solution, not sleeping with my dogs wouldn't work for me. |

Ann never said what she wound up doing or if it helped...... Maybe I should email Tony and ask him. ;) |
Dear Bon Bon, There is am orthodontist here in Gainesville his name is Jim (James) Cannon you can research him. He fought Sleep Apnea for 20 years! He invented and developed a dental appliance that has put the CPAPS to bed! My husband also wore one for ten years. I don't know where you are from, but if you want to downsize and get a full night sleep. Check him out. He is huge in Europe as he has also invented a better bracket system. He did my husband and my sons braces. He is Brilliant!! Good Luck with your search for better health. |
DH has a cpap and says it is the best thing ever it took a while for him to get use to wearing it but now says he wouldn't be without it..good luck |

I'm curious - how long did it take him to get used to wearing it? A week? Two? A month? |
I have severe sleep apnea as well and use the machine faithfully every night. I have used it for about 8 years. i can not imagine my life with out it. I would fall asleep anywhere and would wake up with the most horrible headache. Yes it can be hard to get use to but once you see how well you sleep and wake up ready for the day WOW what a difference! I can not say enough how much I love my machine. Only twice in the 8 years have I gone without, once when hurricane charlie came through and we had no power for 4 days and once at my in laws and the head piece broke. i did not sleep at all and was a very un happy camper. My husband would tease and the kids too but when they realized I no longer was going to sound like a freight train or shake the bed like an earthquake, they quickly changed their minds! Good luck! and happy sleeping! Janet |
