Happiness is finding the last Generator in the Area 1 Attachment(s) We had severe storms here late Friday night. In all my years, never seen lightning and torrents of rain like that night. We got over 7 inches of rain in around 4 hours. We lost power at 11:50 PM. Got a call from Brinks (ADT) that the water bug in my simp pit went off at 4 am. When the power went out, the back up battery operated Pump ran continuously. If finally died, and the water was 2" from the top, just waiting to spill over and flood the finished basement. Marge said she is going to get a generator. I laughed and said good luck, you will not find one. Well, she got the last generator on the last truck into Home Depot. She got it home, fired it up, and ran the pumps, and the Coffee Pot! She saved the day as I pretty much gave up and said it will flood and nothing we can do about it. I then alled 2 neighbors and they ran 100's of feet of electric cord to tap into it. Marge is the Block Hero! |
Steve you now owe Marge:note: :note2: BIIIG TIME:note2: :note: ~ I hope you are aware of that ;) |
Marge saves the day...and the basement. WTG Marge:) |
Took her to her favorite store last night, G Whiz and she bought some Nora Fleming stuff and Pandora, and then to Portillo's for the best Hotdog around. |
Way to go Marge! My brothers both had their cars flooded in Des Plaines. The younger brother is really sad because he has a special edition VW GTI, 20th anniversary model, that he put a lot of money into. :( He feels worse for his neighbor who had a perfect old Shelby Mustang in a completely under water in a garage that is lower than street level. What a mess. |
LOL! Go Marge! That's the best feeling. Last year my dad got the last plow from Lowe's to attach to his four wheeler in the snow. He was so happy, haha. |
Yay for Marge the Wonder Woman who saves the day! |
For that, Marge deserves at least two more Yorkies. |
Hip, Hip, Hooray! Way to go Marge! See? She's not a quitter.:D |
WTG Marge. A woman saves the day!!! :) |
Marge saves the day! This happened here a couple of years back. We live on a corner and all the houses on our block lost power except for us as we were hooked to the side street. So we ran heavy duty extension cords next door and across to the street. Our next door neighbor has two little kids and without the tv they would have made their parent nuts. The power was out for 2 days. After the power came back on the Mom helped the 2 little ones bake us chocolate chip cookies.:D |
Way to go, Marge! Hope you guys stay safe. I was on FB earlier with a friend who lives in the Chicago area. She is on vacation with her kids and BF, but she had gotten a call from her neighbor telling them that their street was underwater. There goes all of her newly completed renovation work. |
I am so sorry Steve but I just have to say this. Leave it to a woman to save the day!!! :D:D:D:D |

You are absolutely correct. We were a bit worried this morning when the was again raining and thundering, but the power stayed on and we are high and dry. Took her to see the Harry Potter Finale in 3-D, and splurged and bought her a popcorn and bottle of water. |
