I can't sleep!!!:/ I am just wondering what everyone does when they can't sleep. (other than going on YT...) I've been trying to fall asleep for the last 2 hours but can't. I've tried flipping to different sides, laying on the couch, watching YouTube videos, listening to music, lisitening to a podcast(so basically people talking, even the classic counting sheep thing... I'm going bonkers!!!! |
The last two nights it has been the same for me- I have tried most of those things as well- finally last night I fell asleep at 4AM and I feel like I am headed that way tonight as well :( So- yeah, sorry- no advice, but just someone to complain with. |
Story of my life every night. And if I do sleep it's at 5:00 and I automatically wake up at 8:00. Ugh Did you try warm milk? A warm bath? Tequila??? |
I down load old time radio programs on my Ipod (Dragnet, CBS Radio Mystery Theater, ect) put in my earbuds and I'm asleep within 15 mins.! Works everytime:) |
I watch chick flicks when I can't sleep. I'm not a fan of those types of movies, but they work great for when I can't fall asleep! :D When that fails, I wake up Kaji and bug him. Not because it helps, but because I want a buddy to stay up with me. |
I rub lavender oil on my nostrils and check our Kelly Howell on Youtube. She has a couple of Brain sync tracks to help you sleep. You will need to download them and have headphones to listen to them, but they are fantastic. |
I have been up all night. It is 6:30 am here now, may try to sleep later. Tried all the usual tricks. Watching tv. Marathon of Say yes to the dress, taped comedies. Played games on facebook. Love jeopardy and how to win a million and family fued. Read, tossed and turned. Finally gave up. I am still sitting here on comp and pups are all sacked out sleeping. Hubby at least is getting some rest. |
I have the same problem sometimes! In general, I can't fall asleep until 1am or later. But there are some nights where I am just awake until 4am... ANNOYING! I hate nights like that. I've found no solution, I generally watch movies. |
I'm pretty much a life-long insomniac, so I've tried everything. The thing that works best for me is a hot relaxing bath, followed by laying in bed listening to a guided relaxation meditation. My problem is more that I wake up and can't go back to sleep. Eating or drinking something helps, of course, so does Ambien. I hope your sleeplessness is just temporary! |
I usually go to bed around 1 or 2 just because... but last night I felt like I should try to go to bed a little earlier, FAIL! I did eat some crackers, thinking maybe it would help. I fell asleep about 2 hours later... Hopefully this won't happen every night! |

To the original poster - I've had terrible insomnia for almost 20yrs now. Do you think you're developing true insomnia at all? I absolutely must take a med to sleep at night. Otherwise, I wake up all night long and I'm exhausted in the morning. I've tried a lot of sleep meds, and Ambien seems to work best - and it's cheap. The Ambien CR is really expensive, and doesn't work well for me anyway. Also, meditations on my ipod are really nice (I have to be in the mood tho). |
