WARNING - Airbags 1 Attachment(s) I wanted to take the time to warn anyone who owns a Lexus. I have a Lexus ES350. It is an '09 that was bought in '10. I was involved in a very bad accident this past week. I have $9,000 worth of damage done. It was all frontal damage and not one air bag deployed. I'm including pictures so you can see. The accident occured as I was coming down a busy highway. The guy ahead of me, that I was approaching had no break lights and I did not realize he was stopped until it was too late. I was traveling at around 30 milles an hour. I hit my breaks as soon as I realized but it was too late and I hit the back of him. He had a big pickup and I don't believe I even damaged his truck. My car, hit and smashed, then the front went under him. I have a severe concussion, Neck injury as well as knee, back and hip. Since my car was a demo with 12,000 miles on it when I got it last year, my husband googled to see if we may have missed a recall on the air bags. What he found was issues with them dating back from '07 to present. The airbags for whatever reason do not always deploy. An attorney in Florida has a class action suit against Lexus for this issue. We were unaware of this at time of purchase. I'm sure not many are aware as Lexus has refused to recall them and fix the issue. It's stated in the article that Lexus achkowledges a problem but does not know how to fix it. The article states that they effect every single Lexus ES350. Please if you own this car, have it checked. Not sure how to do that but I don't want to see someone else get hurt as badly as I did. |

Thank God you are ok with no serious injuries. Did you go to the hospital so you have proof of your injuries? Did they ticket you for the accident? Be careful with those kind of injuries.I was rear ended 25 years ago and had a neck injury and it still bothers me now.My son had a minor accident 2 weeks ago where he barely hit someone in the rear but thankfully they called it private property and didn't give him a ticket, he is only 17. Waiting for the other driver, he was 15 with his mom in the car, to come up with some kind of lawsuit wanting money even though they weren't injured when it happened. My brother has worked for Toyota for 30 years and all these problems they are having has really effected him financially, he works in parts, I knew there were some issues with the Lexus, seems like there are a lot the public doesn't know about. |
