I was walking Tucker today in the little jacket that Joan got him. Well my mailman of all people, of course had to make a comment on it, so i heard him say under his breath, "go get a real dog." so i turned around and "polietly" remindied him of Rusty. Rusty is the sweetest dog ever, but he has a run that he's on connected to our "temporary" back steps (they aren't connected to the house.) and if he's outside and the mailman walks by, Rusty can actually pull the steps a few inches away from the house. :eek: :eek: So anyway, i said, "oh you don't think i have a real dog? you know that big brown dog who doesn't really like you up the street? thats my dog." then the look on this guys face was just too funny!! i almost died laughing. maybe now he'll THINK before he makes a comment on what Tucker looks like. :D

Ha ha thats funny!

I think my mailman hates my dogs just because of all the barking they do. He always has a grumpy look on his face when he actually has to come up to my door and I have to come out to sign for something. The dogs throw a riot in the house :D

What a buttface your mailman is...to say, "get a real dog." Your comeback was perfect...way to go! I just think his remark was so uncalled for...he must be a miserable person to try to ruin someone's day. Glad you stood up for yourself! I agree with I Luv My Pups...letting Tucker pee on his leg! hahaha

Mailmen need to walk softly. (My grandfather and uncle were letter carriers early in their life long postal careers, so I'm FOR SURE not against the agency that kept my mother's family with a paycheck all through the Depression, so this is NOT anti USPS). I read somewhere that the reason dogs bark at the letter carriers is that every day they come to the house and every day the dog barks and very day the letter carrier leaves. The dog thinks he chased the carrier away, so he gets to feeling pretty buff and encouraged to bark even harder. Ever noticed how dogs either accept and ignore the mail coming or go absolutely crazy livid? I think that's why. They think they're winning.

That makes total sense!!! I am not easily offended UNLESS someone says something negative or even makes an ugly face about my children or my dogs!!! Then...you better watch out :D

yeah i know. but it was a LONG time ago when we first got him. like 7 1/2 years ago so..... :( i\'m not even sure we have the same mailman, i just know Rusty hates them all now.
