Oh my goodness! Look at all the water. :( These poor people. For you that have not seen: YouTube - ‪Water Filling 2500 Homes in Minot As River Rises‬‏ Here is an article: Minot Officials Say 2,500 Homes Submerged Under Water (Photos), Christian News |
Dear Connie, You are in my prayers and thoughts. I can hear the devastation in your voice. Talk to you soon. |
Connie, I'm so sad your town is going through that. It is heartbreaking to see such devastation and loss. |
The pictures from this video are not up to date, as we have much more water than what shows here...but I thought this song was so beautiful. |
In this video you will see the animal shelter that has been set up. If it were on my side of town, I would go walk some dogs, but until they set up one on my side, there's not much I can do. Souris River Hits Record High Flood Level in Minot, N.D., as Residents and Zoo Animals Evacuated - ABC News |
I was watching this on the new earlier today. My heart goes out to all those who have been and will be affected. Will keep saying prayers for everyone who is touched by this. |
The video is heartbreaking. You, your family, and your community are in my thoughts and prayers. |
Connie, continuing to send prayers to your way. |
Connie, thanks for updating and letting us know you are safe. The pics are just unbelievable. I'm sure you cannot believe your eyes. We are continuing to hold you and yours up in our prayers. |
I saw this on the news yesterday. Please stay safe. |
Praying you and your family are still safe. |
Just wanted you to know you folks are still in our hearts and prayers! If we can help in any way please let us know. |
I talked to Connie earlier today and her power was off. I just spoke with her now and her power is back on but the sirens went off again. They are no getting terrible rain, winds and hail. They are under a tornado watch as well. Please continue to keep all of Minot in your prayers. I feel so bad for them. Connie will try and get on later. Thanks |
Thanks for the update Patti! All they need is that kind of terrible weather yet! The poor ppl in that town are really having a time of it! |

How terrible! I feel so sorry for all of them. :( My goodness, enough is enough. Please please pray that they will feel some relief soon. |
I saw they had severe weather. How awful! |
I hope you are safe, that you weather the storm, and that you can keep your spirits up. My prayers are with you and the rest of your city. I\'m so sorry for all that you have seen and faced. |
Connie prayers for you and your townspeople. Im so sorry for all of you. My heart breaks for all those people losing thier homes. |
Connie, Being from ND myself I have been watching closely the flooding in your area. I will say a prayer for you and your family. I lived in Fargo during the BIG one many years ago, thankfully not as much was damaged as was originally thought!! We can hope and pray that will be the fate for Minot as well. Take care!! |
Thanks to one and all for your well wishes and prayers. This has been so agonizing to see one after another of my friends lose their home. I know so many people in the valley...my old neighborhood is flooded and many of my old neighbors still live there. Then the thousands and thousands that I don\'t know...but up until this past week, they all had homes. It looks as if the crest is happening sometime tonight, 2 feet under what they expected, but with the severe weather all around today, it may go up again. We had funnel clouds on top of us today and they sounded the sirens. High winds, but thankfully it didn\'t last too long. The rain came down in buckets! I took the dogs and went into the basement. Well, we found out today at 3:30 that we now have to boil our water. We are not to drink it, wash our hands or brush our teeth in it, but yet they say we can shower in it? Go figure. LOL They are not positive of contamination yet, but our water system was infiltrated with something. I\'m so glad we stocked up on drinking water and have a couple tubs of water outside. It\'s hard to remember not to wash hands and stuff like that. We are not to wash our dishes in it, nor rinse them. I\'m going to put a note on all my faucets because I will probably forget. It was one of my friends birthday today...one of the friends I helped evacuate...and now her home is flooded. |
Oh Connie. You have so much to deal with. We forget about the luxuries we have such as water. I am glad you were smart enough to reserve some. The flooding is horrible. I hate that you are having to deal with the funnel clouds on top of all that. The poor people in that area that have lost their homes. Your poor friend. Not a good way to spend her birthday. I am so sorry. Sending prayers to each and every one of you! |
Oh Connie, so sorry for you and your town. I saw the distruction on the news today. You all are in my prayers. God Bless. |
I am just now seeing this and I can truly say that I have never seen anything like what Minot is going through. I am so very sorry this happened. I am so relieved to know that you and your family are alright. Please keep us updated so we will know how you are doing. I just said a prayer for you and all of the other people in Minot that God will keep them safe and will help them through tough times ahead. |
Connie you have been in my thoughts and prayers. |
Connie, I have been following this on the news. My heart breaks for everyone affected. Praying for all of you and all of your city. |
It\'s just awful. The water will be a total pain for you. Who knows how long that will last? I\'m so sorry for everyone losing their homes. The people in Joplin lost their homes, but they had insurance, or most of them did. The problem for the people of Minot is that very few had flood insurance. So sad! |
Connie, prayers and hugs to you and all your friends. |
I just got off the phone from Connie. She has no internet and land line phone. She misses the internet but the land line not so much! They are still under a boil order for their water. So many places have been lost. The dog park is under water, 2 of the 3 animal hospitals are under water and so many others. There was a kitty stuck on a roof top and someone started a Facebook page Save the Roof kitty. I just checked it and it sounds like the poor baby was just rescued. Connie will update when she gets her internet back but has no idea when. Also, her DH is scheduled for hernia surgery tomorrow and they think it is still on. So if Connie can\'t update I will keep you posted. So please keep the prayers going. Thanks |
Thanks so much for the update. Please let her know we are all thinking of her and sending prayers. |
I was watching the news of that area yesterday. How terrible. My thoughts and prayers are still with everyone in Minot, ND. :( Also with Connie\'s husband and his surgery. |
