Connie | 06-08-2011 08:52 PM | My new Grandson! 1 Attachment(s) Actually, he is not new...he is 20 years old as of April 25th, but I hadn't seen him since he was a baby! My daughter got pregnant as a teenager and had him and gave him up for adoption. She named him Christopher when he was born, but the adoptive parents renamed him Zachary.
So, Melissa (my daughter) had gotten a letter from Zach a couple of years ago, which came through the adoption agency. She wrote back to him, and after that, the agency screwed up and misplaced their letters, so they each thought the other didn't want to meet.
The craziest thing happened. One of Melissa's friends was at a program and sitting near Zach...right here in Minot! Zach told her he was adopted and how he wanted so badly to meet his birth mom, but he didn't think she wanted to meet him. He said since he's been in Minot, he would go to the Mall and walk around looking for someone who looked like him. He told her all he knew was that her name was Melissa and she had some boys and said one of them was a name like Jorden, but different. Missy's friend asked him if it was Joran and he said yes. Then she asked him if his birth mother had named him a different name when he was born and he said, yes...she named me Christopher. Missy's friend said, "Shut up!" LOL So, with no help from the adoption agency, they found each other! I think God worked that out to happen as it did. Melissa was so excited she could hardly contain herself. His parents are both pastors... have been in Minot 2 years and live up the street from me, so Zach has driven right by my house many times! What a small world! Melissa has been on cloud 9 ever since, as has Zach! What an amazing blessing this has been for our family. Zach asked Missy if he could call her Mom, and of course that was fine and dandy with her! He's a very nice young man! I am so thrilled and happy! Zach said he's always wanted a big family and now he's got one! He was welcomed by all of us with open arms.
