Joplin, MO Before & After Pictures There are also current pictures. I thought some of you might like to see them. Joplin is very close to me and I've grown up shopping there. It's a favorite place and the people are wonderful and very nice. Joplin MO tornado: At least 89 dead as twister cuts 4-mile swathe through Missouri town | Mail Online |
The destruction is inconceivable :(. |
Those pics are mindblowing! It really drives home the extreme devastation.:( |
Those pictures are just beyond words............. |
Those pictures are unbelievable. Overwhelming. I always liked Joplin. We almost always stopped there to eat or something when traveling that direction. I have a friend whose cousin lives there and is missing. They've had a terrible time ever since the tornado with more rain & storms. I heard yesterday the tornado sirens had to be sounded two different times. That is always stressful in itself, how much more with this awful tragedy. |

Wow, it is just so hard to believe, even after looking at the pictures. I had no idea 1,500 people are still unaccounted for.:( I hope & pray many more survivors will be found. May God Bless them.:( |

I also heard of a young man who was coming home from graduation. He was driving & his dad was with him. The young man was sucked out of the sun roof & last I heard not yet found. The dad was injured, but will recover. Lots of horrible tragedies. The tornado threats were so bad here yesterday, I took Heidi to work with me & tried to think of what all I could do to keep her safe. She's so little. |

Photos of the inside and outside of St. John's Regional Medical Center. It has nine floors. They are going to rebuild. Structural engineers are now looking at the building to determine if the present structure can be used or if they will need to rebuild in another location. I've always loved that hospital. I've had family there in the past. There were 5 patients that died that were on venilators. That makes it all so terribly real. You always hear about it, but it's all the more devastating to SEE it. I can't imagine what those families are going through. My heart goes out to all of them. |
Seriously heartbreaking! Makes me think back to our hurricanes. The celanup seems almost insurmountable but little by little you do get it done and before you know it, your town starts looking like it should again. There are still places where the evidence shows from hurricanes of years past but I never thought we could have a pretty area in such a short time. Lots of hard work and good old mother nature regrowing things... and before you know t your town is back. So very sorry for so many lives lost. Praying for all those who must cope with the loss along with trying to find a place to live. |
