mad at target  I had posted a thread earlier asking about kindles. Decided to get one and Target ad sd kindle $114. No where in the ad did it say the one with sponsor ads. So I went and asked for one of the kindles from an employee. She showed them to me and there were ones with $114 on them and some for 139.00. I sd i wanted one without the ads for the 114.00 listed. She sd only the ones without ads were 114. Told her about the ad. she looked and agreed on what was shown. She called someone else over and they sd "the price difference is because the 139.00 one has wifi. I told i had research the kindle for several days, they all had wifi. She sd they meant the add one only in the paper. I sd not what it said. She went to ask someone else and they sd no had to buy it with ads for that price. I sd i could buy the ad one anywhere for 114 why is it in the sale paper if not discounted? sd it says advertised at that price not that it was on sale. I thought that was the purpose of a sale paper! I finally went to best buy. They were out of the 139.00 ones but in any case would not match the ad price because no sku was listed in the ad. Another point in my argument. I finally bought the ad one. I called Target guest services and complained. What did they say? They would let ad dept and corp know and that she understood my complaint. My mom was with me and sd I was not rude or a b(*&%. I thought maybe target could at least send me a coupon or somethng for my aggravation. Guess not. |
That sucks I hate when they try to trick you. They should really make the ad clearer. I get so angry when that happens. The idiot salespeople don't know the real answer they just treat you like you are an idiot and shoo you away. I wonder if Walmart would have matched the ad?? Hmmm |
It doesn't surprise me about Target. I posted this on another thread, but can't find it to copy. My husband and I were out shopping. Got a bunch of things at Target, including a bone/chew toy for Gidget. When we got home, realized toy was not in bag. Called the store. They told us to come back to store to get item. We took pup w us, as we had just gotten home to her and were just running in to get toy they forgot to bag. We walked into store. I stood at door w pup (4 lb) and husband walked up to desk. He told girl he was there to p/u toy that had not been bagged, that we had called about earlier. Girl ignored him, leaned over counter, and started screaming at me to get me and my dog out of the store. Husband butted in, told her I was w him and we were not shopping, just picking up toy that did not get bagged. She ignored him and kept repeating the screaming at me. Manager came to front, apologized for employee's outburst. Husband explained how we weren't real happy. Had to spend gas running back (about 50 min round trip) to store to get item that didn't get bagged that we had paid for and then we get screamed at by employee. He said he was sorry. Toy should have been bagged, employee shouldn't yelled. That's it. We're not big Target fans after that exp. |
oohhh You should return it and go with the Nook!!! I did a ton of research on the 2 of them and the Nook came out ahead when it came to getting the actual reading material. You can borrow from the public library on the Nook, also you can share books with friends who have a Nook. Kindle does not do this yet. Plus you can go to a B&N store and read any e-book for 1 hour a day for free and you get coupons for the store and coffee shop. I LOVE my Nook! Its never far from my side believe me! :) |
To OP did you call the corporate office? I truely believe in climbing the ladder until you find someone that didnt leave their "give a care" at home. I no longer shop at Walmart, tired of employees that cannt answer my questions, people that are rude or unconcious when walking down an ile, mostly children screaming and noone telling them to stop or even trying to quiet them. I decided that if a store wants to act like they are doing me a favor to let me spend my money there,I dont have to grace their door. There is plenty of competition out there to get what you want/need and not raise your bloodpressure so high. It must be my age, just tired of stress and cutting it out where ever possible. |

You can see the add at the target.com site. my zip is 37932 to find the ad. |
I don't blame you for being upset. With they way things are financially, the stores should do everything to make sure their customers are happy. They have to learn the hard way that word of mouth works both ways. That girl at the store was so rude to yell at you like that. I hope she was repremanded for it. |

That's what I should have done. I ordered a gazebo on April 13th and was told via email that I would receive it by May 5th. On May 8th I got an email stating that I would receive it between May 5th and the 23rd. On May 23rd I was told that the gazebo was back ordered, and I should get it around June 23rd. I sent them an email to complain about their poor customer service, and was told that I would receive a thirty dollar coupon that could be used on my next order!! I cancelled. There will be no "next order!" |
When I was a kid,I spent several summers and Christmas holidays working in my grandmother's dime store. She told me that she didn't care if someone was coming in to purchase "A" piece of penny candy, they were to be treated like they were the most important customer that we had. That customer may of had to work very hard for their money and we wanted it to be spent in our family store. This is the attitude that I expect to recieve in any store I enter. If not I can always go to their competition. No more Walmart in my life, just cannt flush my personal time like that. |
Target is one I have to constantly check on about sale prices. They have too many caveats that are not listed in their ads!!! This is especially true for any electronic item. I had just about the same sort of experience trying to buy a camera. I too, left and just bought it at Best Buy. It was not cheaper but at least Best Buy was honest in their advertising. KMart is another -- they often do not have the sale price in the computer. So, you pay full price unlist you catch it as it goes through the scanner. Then if the cashier hits total before you catch the error, you have to go over to the customer service line and wait to get the money returned! One day I did catch her before she totaled everything, but she said she would have to start all over and rescan every item I had bought. Grrrrr..... That time I just told her to keep her sale item and didn't get it at all. Seemed she could take it off without rescanning everything. I think she just said that hoping I would let it go. I should not have posted here -- now I am aggravated again too! |
