Weight loss Advice??? I remember reading in the new year resolution thread about other YT members trying to lose weight... Gosh, it's so hard!! I was wondering those of you that have been trying to lose weight reach your goal yet?? Any advice?? I'm trying to lose 40 lbs and it's been depressing to do. :( |
Come visit us at Skinny Yorkie Mommies! The link is in my siggy. You're right, it IS hard work, and we need all the support we can get. |
I lost past my goal weight by eating much smaller portions. It is amazing how much we eat when we really do not need it unless we have really hard physical work and need all those calories. Also I quit quit quit buying bad snack food and ate snacks only of fresh or frozen fruit, veggies. Last ice cream I'd bought B4 this 1/2 gallon I have now was in Nov or Dec. Also I don't eat unless I really am feeling hunger pangs. |

Very simple. I have lost 10 pounds in 3 months. Take in less Calories. Eat 3 small meals a day....and walk, walk, walk. |
My dtr took over our eating habits. I am watching my sugar since I am diabetic. I am the smallest of the grp and I am not that small. I keep gaining and losing the same 4-5 lbs. Dtr and her boyfriend have lost about 15 lbs each they are counting calories by keeping a count of what they eat everyday. They have become obsessed with noting calories in the comp. Dh has lost 42 lbs since we started by watching his portion size and eating the meals that dd fixes. I am so proud of him. On Saturday nights we go off the diets somewhat. We take turns picking a place to eat out at. That way we do not get tired of the meals she fixes. |

Exercise, exercise, exercise. I had bought gym equipment for my son who needed to lose weight and get his cholesterol down. He did not use it too much so I started to use it. I feel so much better when I use the bike and treadmill. I have more energy and when I don't exercise I really feel the difference. When the weather is nice I enjoy walking outside. If the rain ever stops, I'll be walking again soon. Good luck!! My son did eventually start to work out and lost weight and his cholesterol came way down! |

I have tried all the weight loss diets. And I lose it off and then get off the diet and gain it back. I think the true answer is smaller portions and lots of exercise. I really think exercise is the real key! But that is just my opinion. My doctor recommended Weight Watchers over the other diets. |
I lost 120 lbs on Weight Watchers, I reached my goal 9 years ago. It is always a struggle, but it really is about portion control. It is all about changing your eating habits. My favorite line is "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!" It has made me step away from the cake and ice cream! I had tried just about everything before that, but I wanted to eat as normally as possible! Best of luck! |

Also, I am not calling what I'm doing "dieting", I'm calling it a lifestyle change. Everyone gains weight back if they diet, and then go back to their old ways. I want to keep this weight off forever :) |
