Has anyone tried the HCG diet?? My husband and I decided to do this diet together, and stated one week ago today. I've already lost 13 pounds and hes lost 18 in A WEEK! We aren't overweight, but needed to shed a few pounds. Just wondered if anyone else has tried this? I'm thinking it's not healthy to lose this fast, but I'm still lovin it!:) |
Ive never heard of it but do tell. You have my attention! |
Wow! Great results! Are you going through a doctor? Or if not, where did you buy it? |
I agree, those are great results! Never heard of the diet, though. What are the details? |
Details please!!! |
It's the new fad around here. It's drops you put under your tongue 3 times a day and it has a pretty strict diet that goes along with it. But, I'm not at all hungry in between meals and haven't been at all tired! Just was hoping someone else had either done it or was doing it!!! Google HCG diet and a TON will pop up! |
I haven't but many at the girls have. They did the Injections though. The diet has been around for about two yrs and going strong. All lost a ton of weight and as soon as they stopped they had a nasty rebound effect. One had nasty side effects. Like a false preganacy effects. No thanks. I know everyone is different. Wishing you and the hubby great luck. |
My DIL and some of her friends did this diet...the most any of them lost was about 10 to 12 pounds and once the diet was over they gained back all of that and more. This isn't a healthy way to lose weight. |
Losing that much weight on a diet is not really healthy for your body. The rule is the faster you lose it the quicker it will come back. I have heard and read too many reviews that just seems to me to not be a safe diet. Limiting your body to 500 calories is just not enough for your body to be healthy. But this is just my opinion. I would talk with your Doctor about the diet. |

I totally agree it couldn't be healthy! But I guess at the same time, we are eating healthy! I think we have lost more than them norm....that's why I was trying to get others experiences! I usually lose weight for the summer, and slowly gain it back over the winter, but ive never before tried " drugs" lol! I'm not too worried about gaining it back, because we are pretty active in the summer. It's been a great jump start though! I did ask my dr about it, and she said the drops weren't unhealthy, it's the 500'calories that are frowned upon and I completely get that! But, it's just for 21 days.....'anyways, maybe someone else is doing it or has done it that could give me some input. |
My daughter is trying it on the recommendation of an in-law. Haven't heard of any results yet. We'll see. I hear it's quite effective. |
Weight didn't stay off I tried the HCG diet last year and I got great results. I was hungry all the time since I was only eating about 500 calories a day. I did everything perfectly and stayed on it for the entire course. The weight started creeping back a couple months later. I know it was my fault. The problem I have with this diet is that its a quick fix but it doesn't teach you any weight management skills. Good luck. I hope you have better success than I did. Start preparing yourself mentally for whats coming after the 28 or 40 day diet ends. |
I was actually researching this today... so I have been on a diet plan and have since reached a plateu... im trying to find something to jump start my weight loss again and interested in this. let me know how it goes! |
This is NOT healthy! 500 cals in one day is absurd! You are starving your body, and when the body is starving, it goes into hibernation mode, it burns off muscle and stores the fat bc you can live off of the fat in your body longer than muscle. Much like why an anorexic still has a high fat % bc the body is storing its reserves. After the 21 days of course you will gain it back, you will be eating in excess of 500 cal/day. |
