This has been all over the news in Georgia and on billboards for months. We have discussed it in Sunday School several times. My son is in High School and a former student posted on FB (last week) that because of this date and the end of the world, he was bringing a GUN to SCHOOL so he could shoot people so they would not be left behind on May 21, Fortunately this did not happen the student never had the chance to arrive at the school. I think he arrived somewhere else with some assistance. The school was well prepared. Now the new date is some time in October.

WOW! I went to Eternal Earth-Bound Pets and got my laugh for the day - sounds like a unique puppy scam! Here's a direct quote: For $135.00 we will guarantee that should the Rapture occur within ten (10) years of receipt of payment, one pet per residence will be saved. Each additional pet at your residence will be saved for an additional $20.00 fee.

So, if I fork over $135.00 plus an additional $20 for each additional pet, they will assure me that an athiest will come and rescue my little ones - IF the rapture occurs within 10 years of receipt of payment. :D

I guess if you aren't Christian you don't believe in the rapture, but if you ARE, then it seems reasonable to believe that the world will end for ALL at that time, athiests included.

I saw that too. I am not too worried I live in LA after the rapture business here will be the same. Perhaps the commute will be a bit easier LOL.

I read into this a little more, and the guy is saying that all the "saved" people will be taken on the 21st, and then there will be a few months of terrible life left on earth until the world totally destructs in October.

That is so scary about that student at your son's high school!!! :(

Yes it was about half of the kids stayed home even though we received a call that this situation had been taken care of the day before. My son attended school and so did a van load of police from the county police department. Glad the student was posting his intentions on Face Book. The world will end when God decides and not someone else.

Now the CDC is preparing for a "zombie apocalypse". I can't wait until tomorrow at 6 P.M. when NOTHING HAPPENS. I'm a Christian, believe in the rapture, but believe that only God knows when it will occur. Read this article I found on Yahoo! about the "zombie apocalypse". :D Now I have to worry about raging flesh eating zombies too. LOL

It does sound like a scam.
However, this is something I've worried about for awhile. If my pets are left behind what will happen to them? I pray God will let me take them all with me, lol.

If I remember correctly when the rapture does come Jesus comes for all the Christians. All others are left behind for a period of time where satan has full reign of the earth. So yeah atheists and all other non believers will be left behind.

Watch Left Behind, it is a great example of what to expect.

I do believe the end is near, this world has just gotten so bad and many signs are there. However it won't be on any day that man predicts. It will come "like a thief in the night" so no one will know or be able to predict it.

So unfortunately I still have to go to work tomorrow.:rolleyes:

I saw that zombie article, too, today. I honestly think time & money could be better spent! I think these people are watching too many scary movies!

As for the end of time predictor, I think I read he's already predicted this, then woke up on the day it was supposed to happen & said he had his days mixed up?:confused::confused: I think more than that are mixed up!:rolleyes:

My belief exactly! Go figure, my church is planning a fundraiser dinner for our youth Sunday. Guess the pastor isn't thinking the rapture is tomorrow. Lol. I just don't think God will be that predictable.

Now, on to the site offering to take care of my pets. I only have one thing to say. Some people will do anything to make money. That even includes taking advantage of the timing of the rapture. Wow. Can't be good.

How can this man claim to be a Christian and not know his own scripture? "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone." Or "For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night."

Oh well, I guess we'll find out soon enough. I have to go to my friend's twins' 4th birthday party tomorrow, so hopefully I get a turn in the jumpy house before it all goes down. :D

The zombie article is more than a little bizarre, though. Now the conspiracy nuts will wonder what the government isn't telling us. Like we don't have enough to worry about with the economy, now we have to worry about the zombies coming to get us! :eek:

News websites are already saying it was not true as it is already past 6 pm may 21st in new zealand and nothing has happened. A part of me was thinking what if it was true? But I know that the Bible says only God will know not even his Son. So what makes this guy special?
The church next door has a Memorial Day service planned. I guess they do not believe the guy.

One thing I said to dh: What if everyone starts celebrating it did not happen, then it does the next day?:rolleyes:
