bellababy08- Im not sure how old these floors are, I know they have lived there for 10 years, I know they look new so it must be recent. With tine vinagar and water, doesnt it smell the house up, I know my Mom told me to use it on the mirrors and I had such bad streaking and it was smelly in there, so I just got me some windex! I think the whole vingar/water mix is for Profesional's, I myself is an Amature! Maybe I will just hire a maid!



BabyGirl Rosie- What happens when they Pee?? Does it start to bring the floor up??

FYI.....all I said was vinegar and water....YOU "went there" with the douche ;) :D


Yes...pee makes the floors buckle! :eek:

With our babies tile is best and thats what I wanted at first but DH talked me into the laminate floors and I really liked the look of them so when we had to replace the laminate I went with real wood but I did go with tile in my kitchen this time around LOL since the kitchen and baths are the most likely places for water damage.

Tile in my kitchens and baths too. After my son overflowed the toliet....tile only there. ;)

BabyGirl Rosie- I know, I love the smell too!! My friend was using one, cleaning her tile, it smelt the whole kitchen up!! I loved it, and it looked so easy!!

Knowing myself, If I used the water/vinager It would be a disaster! I am worried now knowing the Pergo is in the kitchen, I am messy with water soooo I might have to get some rugs!

Yes everything is so $$$, we might just have to deal with the floors for awhile, DH is in contracting and he gets lots of deals, but it is going to be last on our list. I love how it looks as well!!



Sugarmamma- I told you Pnut has standards, he doesn't pee on wood or tile!! He only Pees on carpet!!

Only rooms I have carpet in is my bedrooms...nobody wants to get out of bed and walk on a cold floor...Its only DH, the furbutts and I now...kids are all grown and got :D so I keep my guess bedroom doors closed at all times and I have a baby gate up at our room so the furkids can't go in there during the day, only at bed time with us....king size bed dh & I and 2 yorkies and 2 cats all sleep in there LOL...Cats sleep on the kitty tree and the yorkies in bed with us...we wouldn't have it any other way...love it :p

SUPER Easy!!!!! Yep, get rugs. They will catch most of the little water incidents. :D

all yorkies have the same standards...LOL...I really think they think its grass or a HUGE potty pad...I don't care how well potty trained a yorkie is..if you have carpet, they are gonna pee on it.:rolleyes:

Lol I KNOW!! I have been trying to potty train him for 4 years!!! DH says its my fault, I say its a yorkie standard! :D

Now that I have all wood and tile in my house...my yorkies never have an accident anymore...I do have carpet in my bedrooms but I keep the doors closed at all times so they can't get in them...Carpet just screams to them..."come pee on me" :D

Can you find out from the previous owner exactly what material the wood floors are and how old they are? That info will help you keep them looking nice until you are ready to replace (if ever).

Laminate, Pergo, solid wood, and engineered wood all basically snap together, can look similar, but need different cleaning methods.

Sugar will pee on the tile. She likes to see how many grout lines she can spread.....I think she is going for a "personal best" :D :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Never use wax or polish on Pergo;
I use both the vinegar and Pergo, both also. I have real wood and the laminate in one area. Don't use anything else
