So I've made one decision. First I'm going to push the LSAT to October. I decided that I can't do it all, and I have to get a job, and finish this degree. I just had a job interview today and I think it went well. it's 8:30-5:30 which will be long hours but she said the pay is better because of that. I didn't ask what the pay was, but I really think it'll be decent. So I'm going to try and finish my four remaining courses by October, that way at least I have a degree. to answer the financial aid, it's all confusing. I can't get a student loan because I "have" to live at home to collect the child support from my dad. Once that is finished in October I can "officially" move out and be a dependent student. I can't claim as a dependent because of financial troubles in my family. Lets just say my family isn't in good standing with the government, so I chose not to get involved with my family's issues, I built my own credit without any concern from them (THANK GOD). I have no co-signer and for the first four years I haven't been able to get any loans at all, only my credit cards. a month ago I finally got my first real line of credit (not a student one unfortunately) and that's my $5000. it's maxed right now cause I needed a new (to me) car, and I paid last semester's tuition. So if I get this job, I think my life will be back on track, I'll have money coming in and they appear to have great growth opportunities. I mentioned my interest in picking the brain of someone in the law department. Thanks everyone for all your advice, I'm starting to get things on track again. |
