My nephew got a coffee machine stuck up his nose {This is from my sister-in-law, I think it's so cute. The 'Tony' is her Tony, not my hubby Tony. Also, her name is Anne (whereas I'm Ann, lol!):p} Kim just called and said that Alex sneezed something out of his nose that shot across the room. She initially thought it was a big bloody booger, but when she found it was an orange Barbie coffee cup. Now here is the funny part- Kim says "Alex what is that" - “oh, that is a coffee maker” (like, doesn’t everyone have one of those up their nose?). Kim: “does your mom or dad know it was up there?” Alex: “my dad, I told him a long time ago”…which is true - he told Tony he had a coffee maker up his nose right before they left to be with mom and dad …that would have been March 26. I remember Tony telling me about this and looking up his nose and didn’t see anything and found his description off….a coffee maker up his nose? So thought he was just making something up. So yes, that object was in his nose for over 2 weeks. Also, he had a dr. appointment in which the dr. looked up his nose w/ that lighted thing, too. Now that I think about it , however, he has been sneezing a lot more and some pretty powerful ones, too. So Kim called to tell me this funny story, but also to ask if we wanted it back- ah, no thanks. |
Haha! I so remember those days when the kiddos were little. It's so fresh in my mind that I even had a visual of this happening. :p |
Oh OH! |
 Didn't that hurt? Silly boy. :p |
Thanks for the laugh! |
My first thought upon reading the title, was Gee, her nephew must have a HUGE nose. LOL! Cute story, glad he is alright. :) |
Holy cow! Now that's a cute kids story! Thanks for making me smile! :p |
My nephew once stuck a pea up his nose and no one noticed until it started to sprout and his mother noticed something green growing out of his nose. Think warm, moist climate. :) |
Oh, kids!!! You can't know what is coming next with 'em! What a hoot. Glad he's okay. |
LOL, these are so funny! Oh, I so remember those days....you warmed my heart. Thanks for the smile and heading me down memory lane. :) |

Made my night. Just too cute, poor little guy! It is amazing all the things that fit in a kids nose or ear! |
OMG....lol....Ann...that is too funny :D and so typical of kids. Why is it that kids are always stuffing, what have to be uncomfortable objects up their noses...do they not feel the pain until it's too late? I'm aware of a little girl that broke off one of those huge crayola crayons up in her nostril. It had to be surgically removed.....you know it had to hurt before she ever got it that far up her nose. Had a nephew crying at daycare....daycare calls my sister, "Andrew is crying, and we don't understand what he is telling us is wrong". Sister goes to daycare and sure enough, Andrew is crying and she can't understand anything but "rock up nose". She looks up his nose and can't see a rock....goes to the pediatrician. As they are walking in the pediatrician's office door, the "rock" falls out of Andrew's nose. Last one......niece that had an unpopped popcorn kernel stuck in her ear....removed at the pediatrician's office. *Note to God.....children should be born with mesh screens over their nostrils and ears.:) |

That story brings back fond memories. You would be seriously shocked at some of the things we pulled out of kids noses and ears when I worked pediatrics:D |
My BIL stuck a pinto bean up his nose...swelled so big they needed the MD... |
There's a surgical doctor at Boston Children's Hospital that has a display case of every weird item he has removed from children over the past years. It is REALLY shocking to look at!! Some of the things make you think "how the hek?" |
Oh how funny, I guess next time they will believe his stories. Lately, my allergies have made me feel like I have a coffee machine stuck up my nose! |
Last summer my nephew, about 2 1/2 then, complained off & on that he had a bead in his ear. He would only complain when it was "convenient" for him, bedtime, bath, etc. He is known for having a HUGE imagination, he's accused people of things that weren't even there at the time. So my sister was hesitant & looked in his ears with a light several times & saw nothing. Finally they took him to the Peds. who sent them to the ER....he had a bead resting on his ear drum! Luckily they could just pull it out, otherwise it would've been surgery the next day! |
My grandson swallowed a penny when he was 5...now he is teased by his grandpa sometimes...he jingles the coins in his pockets and asks Ty if he is hungry...Ty hates to be reminded...he was so upset and wanted it out... |
OMG what a cute thread! It so brought back memories of my youngest brother. Mom had to take him to the ER one night to have a TOOTH extracted from his EAR! lol. His tooth had fallen out and he was going to put it under his pillow for the tooth fairy. But he was engrossed in watching something on TV so while laying on the floor watching his show, he set the tooth in his ear so he wouldn't lose it. Needless to say when he tried to retrieve it, it just dropped further into his ear canal. So off to the ER for him! |

Ann, that is funny. How old is your nephew? Kids do the darndest things. When my grandson was little, I think around 3, twice he swallowed a dime and it got stuck in his windpipe. The doctors kept misdiagnosing the problem and finally after a week or so they did an x-ray and that is when they saw the dime. The second time it happened the doctors were on the wrong track too until my daughter told them it might be another dime and sure enough it was. He was really lucky he didn't choke to death. |
